SiouxFan100
I had trouble hearing the PA address announcer at the games. But then I have trouble hearing at times normally.
Sodbuster
I just canceled my espn+ subscription. The way it looks I won't be needing it again.

Good picture, but the PxP announcers needed to turn up their mics. They were absolutely brutal, too. Yeah, but we're spoiled here. Midco has an outstanding production for UND hockey. It's NHL quality, honestly.

It seemed muted but whenever they’d go to commercial the volume was really loud. (We’d gotten the ESPN+ subscription) Yup. On top of that, the announcers seemed to be almost whispering during normal play by play, but then went full volume yelling when BU scored. It was an incredibly uncomfortable broadcast to watch and listen to.

Popular Post siouxfan512
Overall a solid weekend for UND Hockey. This team just looks different than last year. To keep it simple, they pass the eye test. Still stuff to work out and I'm sure they will continue to gel and get better, but tough to not be happy about what they have done so far and with a pretty tough schedule. I like what I've seen out of this revamped D core. Great balance of experience and young talent. Blake is a dude! That guy is so much fun to watch. Can't wait for Perron to really get up to speed, he is going to be really fun. Bummed we couldn't get the sweep, but thats a good road split against a pretty good team. That being said, we were the better team pretty much all weekend. Some stupid penalties on Friday night, but the officiating was absolutely terrible on Saturday. Some of those call on us were ridiculous, yet they let BU go with 2 or 3 different boarding no calls. Road to winning the NCHC starts next weekend, unfortunately its at Duluth. For all of you whining about the BU broadcast, get ready for a serious clown show. I didn't care for the BU job, but it wasn't the worst I've ever seen either. They were totally homers, but also complimentary of UND, the program and the players. I don't know if Duluth has changed up their team at all, but in the past their PxP guy has been ok, but their color commentator is basically a drunk, life long UMD fan.... just terrible. 2

This was my assessment of the weekend, summed up. When we got to a puck possession game, we were stronger and more skilled. Celebrini and Hutson are both all-world, but if you take them away, no one stood out all weekend. With the exception of the last 7 minutes on Saturday, we HEAVILY out possessed that team 5 on 5. I would love to see them in the tourney.
fightingsioux4life
I posted this after the Goofer series. I will post it again here. Because I think the best is still to come with this UND team: "You play baseball coach for a moment. Two players run to first. They both have the same time, but one has perfect form, the other, lousy form." Which one do you pick? The one with lousy form. Why? ‘Cause teach him the right form...and he beats the other guy. Check back in April to see if I am right.

There is a higher upside to the multi sport kid once he focuses on one sport. Studies show single sport athletes peak earlier than multi sport athletes in addition to being more prone to injuries.

Everyone on that young team will be better by then. Celebrini has only been playing college puck for 4 weeks and has more than a point per game. I don't want to see him when it's been 5 months worth... But then again I think Justen Close is more likely to steal a game for MN that Caron is for BU.

I don't think Caron is likely to steal any games, Close will be in the Richter hunt and maybe Hobey. Persson will be too if he keeps playing like he has so far.

He got beat high because we were shooting from the perimeter; and 2. None of those rebounds were pounded in because we were lacking net-front presence. We need to establish "garbage collection" in front. We started last season with the same issue. Someone needs to decide to play in bloody nose alley.

The Sicatoka
You can have a) a dive b) a penalty c) a penalty and embellishment Dive: You skate past me (no contact) and I go down like I'm shot (see: UW Robbie Earl); penalty on me Penalty: I slash you; you skate on; penalty on me Penalty and embellishment: I slash you; you go down like I amputated with a chain saw; penalty on each You can not have a dive and embellishment.

thUNDer
For years haven’t figured how to wrap my head around how a dive can be a penalty on the other guy? Appreciate the explanations
cberkas
Diving is now part of the game even if we don't like it. Brad put out an article a while back where the worst thing that will happen if you dive is get a penalty along with the other guy. They don't call just diving and until they do it will still happen.

I wouldn’t say Perron and gabers goals were from the perimeter. He got beat clean over the shoulder and wasn’t particularly close to getting a piece.
