So what is the lesson here?  You can't PISS AWAY the first 2/3 of the season, and expect to make the tournament, even if you are playing well at the end.  Too little, too late.

When you don't bury your chances earlier bad things are bound to happen. SCSU had multiple partial breaks and odd man rushes late in 3rd and that OT that UND was not getting. Also same as UNO weekend bad passing with alot off the mark or right to other team.

The d both had the guys out wide and James was covering the middle on the zone entry. He entered the zone before the SCSU player and let him skate right by him.

James was in the zone before the guy that scored. He glided to the net while the SCSU kid busted a$$ to the net. You can step up as a defensemen if you have forwards coming back.

Moore was positioned inside which forces shooter further outside and takes away one of the passing lanes hoping someone can get back. A play like that is harder then a straight 2 on 1 because on a straight 2 on 1 Defender tries to play inside and more towards the guy who could be passed to, one one with another teammate getting back you play hoping to hold up play long enough for them to get back. I have no idea where the other defender was other then trying to jump up in play at offensive line who may have thrown the puck into the lineman's skate.
