Would love to jump BU as we seem to have been much better this year when we’re able to match lines. And it’d be critical to match with Celebrini and Hutson as they change games. It’d be nice if the only team we have to worry about is BC, if we even have to play them in the title game potentially.

This year, probably more so than past years, last change will be crucial.

If UND is a 1 seed and Denver a 2 seed, are they put in the same regional due to geography?  Or since Denver would fly to whatever regional they go to, the committee is at ease to put them wherever?

They tend to keep bracket integrity if they can, so they wouldn't necessarily put them with UND unless the layout of the brackets had them matched up naturally. (Example - UND is #4 & Denver is #5).

Nice little nugget from College Hockey Inc. today… If Jackson Blake registers a point this weekend, he will set an NCHC record for most conference points in a season.

Yeah he’s currently tied with Boeser and Brink.

I count 12 goals (out of 130 total) scored by Dmen this year ... even given some of offensive talent we have had on the blue line the last decade or so, this seems like it is a low number.  Just an observation.

I think it is indicative of the depth of talent in the forward group as we don't rely as heavily on the shot from the point and lean on the skill of our forward group to create opportunities and shots.

I haven't researched to see what our % of goals scored by Dmen has been and may do that this weekend.

Personally, I think it is indicative of the type of defenseman that Berry went after when he did the defensive reboot.   We needed guys that were going to be defensively responsible first and foremost, and then worry about adding to the point totals.

It seems that both Livanavage and Wiebe have some nice upside offensively, and they both seem to realize they can be offensive when the situation dictates.  With that in mind, it is very nice that Livanavage has the most points at UND as a rookie defenseman since Brian Lee.

In college hockey today, you need some offense from your defensemen, but like you said, with our forwards, you don't have to sell out for that offense.  I think we move more to the offensive defense in the future, and just make sure they do so responsibly and when the situation dictates.  That said, you are always going to need guys like Bennett Zmolek and Keaton Pehrson, who are just plain hard to play against.   A good balance is always desirable.
