Next year would be 195 or 200, the next year would be 200 or 205, I would assume. I have no idea about how buyouts work so... no insight there. Quote
GoodGood Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 I’m still confused on how a coach with a .300 record got extended. He fleeced the AD big time. 2 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Just guessing, but because of the extension he will be here next year as well. Don’t see them buying out two years. As someone who loves football and basketball, it’s a disappointing time to be a UND fan. I’m not one on the anti hockey train, I still follow along a bit but have never been able to get into it. ND1 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Who knows how this season will end, but FWIW I spoke to a current sophomore BB player the other day. while he wasn't sure how this year would play out he is very optimistic about next year. He is confident the core sophomore group will return and said the current freshman are very talented. He seemed very optimistic about next year. He mentioned that several times during their practices/scrimmages the freshman group would get the best of the starting 5. Sather would then lose it and chew out the starters . Are the freshman this good? Or the starters that bad? Time will tell. 4 Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Trouble is that the title of the thread should say new coaches men’s bb,women might be turning things to at least respectable??, football, volleyball, soccer don’t know about other sports Quote

nodak651 Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 WOW! I just found the best thing ever. Click here -> https://www.midmajormadness.com/2019/11/4/20946421/ncaa-basketball-head-coach-contract-salary-database-mid-major-2019-20 Database of like 150 D1 contracts, including Sathers. It doesn't seem to have the extended version of the contract, though. Quote

I agree with being glad that Sather and team are having success but a 5 game win streak does not erase all of Sathers past. We don't need another 13 years of Brian Jones as the head coach. 1 3 Quote
F'n Hawks Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 I’m not saying fire Sather, but that is one of the most embarrassing and pathetic losses in recent memory. We had a nice path to the championship and screwed it up. We were in control of that game, up 10 late. I’m so sick and tired of the current state of UND athletics outside of hockey. We can never build off momentum and get to the next level. 2 Quote
CMSioux Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 SDSU wins natty in football and has both BB teams favored to go to The Dance. What do they have that UND does not? Quote

JackJD Posted March 11, 2024 Posted March 11, 2024 2 hours ago, Dustin said: What they don’t have is another sport to manage. Based on the UND and the SDSU official athletics websites, I have listed below the sports each team sponsors. SDSU sponsors more sports than UND. Am I missing something about the statement "What they don't have is another sport to manage?" I read that as something the poster thinks is correct and that provides some sort of benefit to SDSU. UND Sports -- Eight men's sports are listed: Basketball; Cross Country; Football; Golf; Hockey; Tennis; Track & Field - Indoors; and Track & Field, Outdoor. Nine women's sports: Basketball; Cross Country; Golf; Soccer; Softball; Tennis; Track & Field - Indoor; Track & Field - Outdoor; Volleyball. SDSU Sports -- Eight men's sports but if Track & Field indoor and outdoor were counted separately as does UND, then the total is nine men's sports: Baseball; Basketball; Cross Country; Football; Golf; Swimming and Diving; Track & Field (indoor and outdoor) ; Wrestling. Nine women's sports but if Trand & Field indioor and outdoor were counted separately as does UND, then the total is 10 women's sports: Basietball; Cross Country; Equestrian; Golf; Soccer; Softball; Swimming and Diving; Track and Field (indoor and outdoor); Volleyball. SDSU also sponsors a rodeo team for men and women although the rodeo team is not considrered a part of the athletic department. JackJD 1 Quote
