We trusted him with the ball when it mattered says a lot about him . We needed to pound the ball and he had fresh legs. He gave hoos some rest for the final set of downs. Good to have three great backs that we can rely on! Wonder if he will get a few more carries down the stretch for that purpose. Quote

Sioux>Bison Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 208 kick return yards yesterday did not put our defense in the best position, that needs to be fixed immediately! 116 combined return yards was bad enough against SDSU Quote

Popular Post UND-FB-FAN Posted October 30, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 30, 2022 Something that brought a tear to my eye yesterday … return of the traditional green helmet, green jersey*, white pants. I’ll take a ton more of that, please. Thanks. *yes, I understand the style of the jersey with white shoulders is a bit goofy, but still the best overall look. Next time, have Adidas just give us nice clean all KELLY green jerseys with white numerals, black outline. 7 Quote

But I forgot how much I don't like those new green tops with the dumb white on the shoulders. I think our black jerseys are our best ones now at this point. Game was far from perfect, but a win is a win. Quote

Popular Post The Sicatoka Posted October 31, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 31, 2022 To @Outsiderand ACU ... A WAC title is still in your reach. Deal with Tarleton, beat SammyHou, and then lock it down against SFA. We're pulling for you. 5 Quote
Dustin Posted October 31, 2022 Author Posted October 31, 2022 https://undfootball360.com/und-prevails-in-a-wild-one-against-abilene-christian/ I felt Kelly didn't call out the defense too hard in his write-up. Is he too soft on them? Our inability to cover defensively when opposing offense goes max-protect is just so deflating. Quote

The effectiveness of max protect against UND’s defenses over the years suggests UND’s DBs struggle. UND defense very reliant on getting pressure on the QB. Quote

The Sicatoka Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 One more ... Mr. Buckner, I see you out there. Thanks for not stone-hand turfing that one! It was desperately needed at the time. And, not to be greedy, but, ... more please. 2 Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Say whatever else you will, this need be brought out (as 360 did): The pass rush wasn’t really there at all, ... Lack of pressure from four exposes so many more issues. Quote

I really thought Navratil was set to have a huge year off the edge and pick up where Turner left off. Other than him I don’t see any dudes in green terrorizing off the edge. Still haven’t had better LBs than 2015. 2 Quote

Like Kelly Howe says, he got beat downfield many-a-time, but the D-line got home those plays, so it didn't matter. A QB sack can cover up a multitude of other defensive sins. 1 Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 At this point, what can really be done with the defense this year, other than seeing a few more light bulbs suddenly turn on? Quote

I think it starts with the CB's not sagging off of the WR's 6-7 yards every single play. It hasn't worked all season and gives the opponents a free 5+ yards every single time. Why don't we try something different and maybe play some man and press up at the line some more?? It can't get much worse so may as well try something else. 2 Quote
forksandspoons Posted November 1, 2022 Posted November 1, 2022 I watched the highlights again and noticed on a lot of big plays ACU had, our DB simply fell on his own. Anyone else notice that? Was the turf an issue? haha Quote
