brianvf Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 I wouldn't understand the logic of James going MJ at this point, especially when all signs show that he will be coming in this fall to UND anyway. Maybe if UND wanted him to wait a year as well, but that doesn't appear to be the case. Quote

The Sicatoka Posted April 27, 2022 Posted April 27, 2022 Feeney and Budy in the portal. James looking like yes. I'd say they are setting up for a 16F/8D/3G, 27 slot roster this year, like 27 last year but that was 15/8/4. 16F makes sense given the unknown status of Hain's leg injury (it's unknown until it gets into a game). AJS Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 2022 roster appears to be set. Per Schlossman's Daily Skate article, Quote The Fighting Hawks have 16 forwards penciled in for next season: Mark Senden (fifth-year senior), Gavin Hain (fifth-year senior), Judd Caulfield (senior), Carson Albrecht (senior), Riese Gaber (junior), Louis Jamernik V (junior), Griffin Ness (junior), Matteo Costantini (sophomore), Jackson Kunz (sophomore), Jake Schmaltz (sophomore), Nick Portz (sophomore), Dane Montgomery (sophomore), Jackson Blake (freshman), Owen McLaughlin (freshman), Ben Strinden (freshman) and Dylan James (freshman). AJS Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 This team should be one of the #1 seeds in next years tournament. Quote

St. Cloud was supposed to be as well this year, but they need to approach this off-season like last year, in getting the newcomers up to speed, and the returning players need to bring it this summer to make the next step. Yup, and his 2.94 GAA puts him right in the middle of the Big Ten goalie stats, and the .918 save percentage is solid. Clearly, UND coaches saw something, and I'm not going to second guess that, for sure. But proven against NCHC competition? Not yet. Quote

Those numbers are pretty darn impressive when you consider the team that was playing in front of him. 2 Quote

Benny Baker Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 We beat out more than 20 schools for Matej Tomek. Glad DeRidder has experience at this level though. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 If DeRidder can hold his save percentage (0.920) his goals against will drop about a goal because he saw 35 pucks per game in the B1G and will see just 25 based on what UND gave up last year. Quote

InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 With UND's history of shot suppression, all I've ever asked of a UND goalie is above .910 throughout the year. Anything above .920 and we're at least a top 5 team in the country. Quote

The Sicatoka Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 24-52-76 <-- That's the offense the team loses this year: Ford, Sanderson, Calder, Budy. 24 of 119 goals (20%). That can be made up. But can they make up for Ford winning so many draws? If there's a "draws machine" (like a baseball pitching machine) Jamernik, Schmaltz, Ness, and McLaughlin had better wear the motor out this summer. Quote
