I wouldn't understand the logic of James going MJ at this point, especially when all signs show that he will be coming in this fall to UND anyway.
Maybe if UND wanted him to wait a year as well, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Feeney and Budy in the portal. James looking like yes.

I'd say they are setting up for a 16F/8D/3G, 27 slot roster this year, like 27 last year but that was 15/8/4.

16F makes sense given the unknown status of Hain's leg injury (it's unknown until it gets into a game).

They also did tweets for Bast and Hellsten recently now as well.  :)

Remember when it was just the stars that had to say they were coming back or not!

This team should be one of the #1 seeds in next years tournament.

The unproven spot is goaltending.  But we have an excellent goalie coach.

and most of the NCHC is going with unproven goaltending too.

St. Cloud was supposed to be as well this year, but they need to approach this off-season like last year, in getting the newcomers up to speed, and the returning players need to bring it this summer to make the next step.

DeRidder has played in 70 NCAA games.

Yup, and his 2.94 GAA puts him right in the middle of the Big Ten goalie stats, and the .918 save percentage is solid.  Clearly, UND coaches saw something, and I'm not going to second guess that, for sure.  But proven against NCHC competition?  Not yet.

Those numbers are pretty darn impressive when you consider the team that was playing in front of him.

UND also beat out 18 other schools for him.

If DeRidder can hold his save percentage (0.920) his goals against will drop about a goal because he saw 35 pucks per game in the B1G and will see just 25 based on what UND gave up last year.

24-52-76 <-- That's the offense the team loses this year: Ford, Sanderson, Calder, Budy.

24 of 119 goals (20%). That can be made up.

But can they make up for Ford winning so many draws? If there's a "draws machine" (like a baseball pitching machine) Jamernik, Schmaltz, Ness, and McLaughlin had better wear the motor out this summer.
