I know, different people and different positions but still from a military academy. ND higher ed administration has been burned by the military academies several times. The AFROTC cadets who pulled the nets out for the kickers used to do that. Not sure if the tradition lives on.

northernraider
It appears those in the know at the Herald (all two that are left?) are not impressed with the six candidates https://www.grandforksherald.com/opinion/editorials/4777949-Our-view-Determine-if-Wynne-is-in-then-proceed

Both think they are president-pickers.
SiouxVolley
Up to three finalists will be chosen on Friday. They will all be interviews by the SBoHE.

The Sicatoka
Who they bring back will be a tell in my mind ... that they really want Wynne. If they are serious ... Armacost, Tikalsky, Marley If they aren't ... Nichols, Staben
Hammersmith
Andrew Armacost, Laurie Stenberg Nichols and David Rosowsky https://www.inforum.com/news/education/4783196-Three-finalists-named-for-UND-president

Oxbow6
In their last positions one was allegedly under investigation and another one received a vote of no confidence. IMO the 3rd one wins by default. Another embarrassing "process" at UND!
Siouxphan27
I would've gone with Bob Marley. Or Ted Nugent.

I don't see Nichols as such. You do not hire Wyoming's non-renewed cast-off, especially when there's swirl of "investigation" and no information. Rosowski? I didn't see getting past faculty/staff board members because of his budget moves at Vermont so wasn't on my mind.
UNDBIZ
Armacost would likely be a poor choice, IMO. Military admins typically don't know how to deal with faculty and students who disagree with them.

northernraider
The fact this was a national search and it came down to these three candidates shows where UND ranks on a national scale.
