jdub27 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 It's an annual event (Women for Philanthropy) and has been set up for a few months now, before the most recent comments about no further donations for buildings or whatever it was. Doesn't mean it won't be a little awkward.... Quote

They're not likely going to pay to replace a safe, usable building.... outside of Fargo. It can be used for something else. Quote

Sounds like UND would like to use it as swing space for the next 5-10 years while they renovate Merrifield and a couple other buildings. The current plan is to raze it after that. Quote

Sioux_FF Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 from the GF Herald Mark Kennedy’s tenure at UND could be nearing its end. Multiple sources said Tuesday that rumors about Kennedy’s departure are swirling at the Capitol in Bismarck. Meanwhile, higher-education officials in Bismarck and at UND declined to comment when asked to verify the rumors. Kennedy, president of UND since 2016, is rumored to be in line for a higher education position in Colorado. https://www.grandforksherald.com/news/education/4596561-mark-kennedy-rumored-be-leaving-und 1 Quote
Popular Post jdub27 Posted April 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2019 For being such a supposed "terrible" president, he sure has managed to impress and garner interest from some pretty big name schools during his tenure at UND. Almost like people had a personal vendetta instead of looking at some of the stuff that was accomplished, particularly in the face of the budget mess. 19 Quote

At this point, things are definitely pointing towards like it is happening. Their board of regents are meeting tomorrow. Kennedy cancelled a meeting with the GF Herald for later this afternoon. This article was from about a month ago:http://www.dailycamera.com/cu-news/ci_32498943/university-colorado-presidential-search-narrows-10-candidates Quote The committee also met with the board to discuss the 10 candidates, and "the board enthusiastically endorsed the committee's recommendations," the letter reads. Ganahl and Griego said the committee intends to interview candidates later this month. The regents expect to interview up to five finalists in April. While the board must publicly name the finalists for two weeks before appointing a president, the past four searches have resulted in a sole finalist, raising concerns about transparency. Quote

Popular Post UNDBIZ Posted April 9, 2019 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2019 Hopefully his departure doesn't put the Gamble Hall money at risk. Rumor is the state will actually be chipping in $15 million. Not the $20 million the donors wanted, but $15 million more than I ever expected. 5 Quote

Well if Kennedy leaves surely any difference will be covered by the surely-coming free-flowing largess of Ms. Engelstad McGarry. 3 Quote

He was handed a terrible budget and made it work. He's stood up to criticism, right or wrong. It's called leadership. And it's sadly rare in today world. 1 9 Quote
