Only possible change is Schwenzfeier being the scapegoat and getting replaced. Money does trump all. Hence Chaves handing out extensions every year is met with fury on a consistent basis. Remember if one of the coordinators leaves they will have to give bubba another extension or they can’t recruit another assistant coach or any players without bubba having at least two more years on his contract. there are so many reasons given to keep extending bubba.. I have no hope he will ever be gone outside of direct retirement.. I’m sure there is a top 10 list of excuses to keep extending bubba somewhere. I would think a defensive specialist like bubba would fire himself after having a terrible defense year after year. also to be clear I’m not advocating for bubbas replacement in the middle of the season and I still hope we somehow catch lightning in the bottle and make a playoff run. A year+ at SDSU makes him more qualified.. offense wasn't the problem when he was here either although I have preferred Fruechte's play calling. I still firmly believe that if they lose their next 3 games, then Bubba's gone. One could argue this is the most important three game stretch in the D-1 era. This program needs new leadership. The last two games could not have emphasized that more. If it happened this year, I wanted them to get Danny originally. "The picture" sort of cemented that. Who can blame him for leaving? 3 more.
