Telly33 Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 There have been regionals in Fargo in the past. Trust me the pattern doesn't change. The details might, but the pattern doesn't. Panic, scalping, face value (or close) at the end. Quote

What I'm pointing out is the drop-off isn't going to be like Vegas as the event gets closer. There isn't a huge upfront cost/time commitment for something like Fargo when people can go on an hour notice vs. a few weeks notice for something like Vegas, meaning the demand from buyers doesn't drop as much and keeps the prices up. I watched plenty of tickets being sold for well over face value the day of the regionals in Fargo, both times. I also helped facilitate getting people tickets at near face value from other people I knew that would have went for more on Craigslist or Stubhub if there wasn't a mutual person involved. Yes, there will be tickets resold near face value but my point is, either be prepared to watch it on TV or pay that minimum dollar, there won't be a ton of panic sellers when the demand is that high and there isn't a barrier to people going on a short notice. 1 Quote
Tbone Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Telly33, what did you get your Vegas tickets for? Obviously below face value as you stated. Interested in how low you were able to parlay your patience into a cheap ticket. I paid $150 apiece 3 months ahead of time in the interest of still finding affordable airfare. (But still took a sh#t kickin’) Quote
UNDBIZ Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 I know people were offering Vegas tickets for around $100 each in the tailgate lot. Not sure if they were able to get rid of them or not. Quote

Tbone Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 Regarding Vegas prices: it sure was disheartening the way the so called true Sioux fans, including some champions club members, were all too glad to attempt to rape other Sioux fans with grossly inflated resale prices. In saying that, I wonder how many non champions club members were able to purchase at face value on the online public sale. Were the vast majority of online (Stub Hub, Seat Geek, Ticketmaster resale) tickets actually from champions club members or were they from opportunistic non Sioux fans? I had a coworker offer me his for his online asking price of $800 each. I would have been tremendously embarrassed at being that level of gouger face to face with anybody. Supply and demand, I know. I ended up paying almost double, $150 each. I did enjoy how some on this forum publicly called out others for their attempts at larceny. Quote

I cannot understanding selling above face to a fan of the same team. The people doing the gouging had to be nearly exclusively champions club members. That stuff leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Very, very few would be my guess. I'll bet there were hardly any actually available to the general public. Quote
runaroundsioux Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Answer to all your ticket shortage problems. Join the Champions Club. $200 a year and you won't have to worry about gouging. Plus, get this, your membership fee goes to support ALL UND athletics. 3 Quote

Because we like the same team, i should sell you tickets at a price less than the going rate? How am I to know that you won’t go ahead and sell them for the going rate and make a profit? As has been said on here already, take the chances and wait for the prices to drop. Or join the Champions Club and get the tickets when they go on sale. Don’t complain about supply and demand though. The market decides the price. If people won’t pay it, the price will come down. Quote
Wildfan Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 The regional prices also drop as time goes on as there is a additional 1000+ tickets that become available leading upto the tournament in team alotments. I know UND fans had no problem calling SCSU and BU ticket offices and buying them as they didn't sell alotment Quote

I don't recall saying I wasn't a Champions Club member... The gouging isn't an issue for me, but it is just a common courtesy and rubs me the wrong way. If I'm in line with 20 other folks to buy a hot dog, and there are only 5 left, it doesn't cross my mind to buy all 5 to resell them to the others who want them. I guess I do feel a camaraderie with my fellow UND fans and don't see them as a potential source of profit. 7 Quote
Telly33 Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 Yep, exactly. And I think everyone who's not in the Champions Club gets that they can join it. Quote

Is this basically a guarantee to get seats for vegas, regional, etc? Or is there a chance that you are too low on the list to get any? Quote

I'm not sure how many are on the list though. 1 Quote
