geaux_sioux Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 This observation (and the litany of nitpicking that precedes it) is but one reason why you need to consider handing this off to a professional designer who has no connection to UND. Ben Brien, a current student, a "local artist," a siouxsports.com poster with 6,838 posts…with all due respect, none of these people have sufficient objectivity or a broad-enough world view, and will likely try too hard and their work will suffer for it.That's the problem. No connection to UND. How could they possibly understand the standard? They don't know the struggle of the past 15 years. I find it hard to believe that a logo from some random company would be accepted the same way as a local design. Quote
southpaw Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) White one. For whatever reason the green gets all jacked up when I put it on this site, I used the official colors of the athletic department. You weren't kidding. I downloaded the green one to play around with it in Photoshop and it definitely opens up as the right green. Looks a lot better, but still pretty busy. Edit: It's because it was created in CMYK colors and not RGB. Hosting sites apparently can't distinguish that way. FYI, I made a couple changes and cleaned it up a little bit: Edited December 2, 2015 by southpaw Quote

geaux_sioux Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 I personally love these three. Here is the tweaked version of the green one. I personally prefer this one to the original green one that I posted because of the added white accents. Quote

UNDBIZ Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) I've made some potential changes to geaux's logo. Hope you don't mind geaux sioux. Note: I used Paint, so it's pretty rough. Thoughts? Edited December 2, 2015 by UNDBIZ Quote
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I personally love these three. 1. I love the black logo even more with the correct green2. I really like the green logo but the white areas have an unfinished look to them Quote

UNDBIZ Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Like this?I also got rid of the white block near the mouth, but yes...... Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Oh c'mon, someone else has to see that, right!?! The feathers scream tradition and F'hawk the NCAA! 1 Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) updated - My version obviously won't pass muster, just having some fun with Geaux's logo, which I think would be good. Edited December 2, 2015 by UNDBIZ Quote

geaux_sioux Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) Another issue of mine with going very basic is that hawks have a great variety of tones and colors in their feathers.Oh look, this hawk is wearing a head dress, someone call the NCAA ^^^^ Edited December 2, 2015 by geaux_sioux 3 Quote
UNDBIZ Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) My issue is that the more bare it gets the more it looks like other hawk logos. Definitely a fair observation. Looking at my most recent attempt on your logo, I'd definitely put the red back in the eye and would look to add back a couple of the black blocks in the upper-center of the head Edited December 2, 2015 by UNDBIZ Quote
Blackheart Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Like this?Maybe I'm seeing things but I could swear there's a word in those feathers....:) Nice try. 3 Quote
