GO_FIGHTING_SIOUX_GO Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Wow class B basketball is nuts right now Quote
scpa0305 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 First potential achievement out the window...boys need to play way better than that when something's on the line. Good for them we still have the frozen face off and hopefully the NCAAs. Quote
crb1 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I can't believe the boys lost. Pretty disappointing effort Quote
crb1 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I don't have much faith that this team will make much of a run in the playoffs. Quote
yzerman19 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 On the bright side, maybe this makes the boys hungrier... I'm disappointed to lose, but if you told me 2 months ago that we'd be playing for the Penrose on the last game of the season, I'd have been thrilled. Quote
scpa0305 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Pathetic 3rd period. I actually think they are negative in the third period for the year. Quote

yzerman19 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Giving up the shorty and drawing a penalty after the major really took the wind out of our sails...it was a dagger Quote
SiouxFanatic Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Sucks to not win the Penrose Cup in the NCHC inaugural season. Gotta suck it up and move on. Team needs to get their act together though. Win or be done for the season is just around the corner. Bring on CC. Quote
Wilbur Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 CC is getting absolutely rolled by SCSU...Miami is going to be a much bigger challenge for the Huskies next weekend. Upset alert! Never good to lose to close out the year at home. But count me in the much rather have CC in your barn than Miami. Couldn't find that extra push in the third period that it'll take in the postseason. Everyone is ticked, but a thanks to the seniors on the ice right now. Very classy group. Quote
SiouxTupa Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Big time credit to WMU. They played so much hungrier than last night. It says a lot about their character. Hak doesn't play the game, but you could read the urgency on his face all game. The team has to be much faster and hungrier from now on. Nearly every game from this point ends some team's season. Palum Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Two of the four seniors are transfers. NCAA sports that feed professional sports are so broken. Quote
BeazSioux Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 I'm sorry, but I dislike Koberinski. Rough one. Moving on. The real season begins. We didn't deserve to win. Go SIOUX! Quote
crb1 Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 That short handed goal is really inexcusable. You have a 5 min major and you let them come down and score. That pretty much sealed our fate. Quote
bcblues Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 That 5 min PP was just sad. Looked like a half-hearted warmup. We should have been taking it to them and we were just standing around. Quote
OETKB Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Too bad they couldn't beat a team with virtually nothing to play for. That was pretty much their only chance for any hardware this season, folks. Let's be realistic. This team ain't going on any frozen four run, although I would love to be proven wrong. Just not feeling it, after the last two weeks. Quote
fsioux Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Very disappointing. For having home ice, the crowd was extremely quiet tonite. Seems like they play better when they are on the road. Quote

The shorthanded goal was actually a freakish good pass and a great play by the shooter. Our mistake was taking the penalty and letting him get to the net. 1 Quote
GO_FIGHTING_SIOUX_GO Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Is it just me or was the Ralph really quiet this year Quote

Our mistake was taking the penalty and letting him get to the net. Agreed. LaDue has had a great year, but if you're going to take a penalty there take the man down and live to fight another day. Seemed like he wasn't trying to draw a penalty and did enough to draw one while at the same time letting the guy score. Worst possible thing to happen in that scenario. Quote
GO_FIGHTING_SIOUX_GO Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Oak grove just beat rugby in class B Quote
