Personal attack, moderator responds to subject, says nothing!  Stay classy with your double standards.

So, Tex, do I bench everyone that makes such attacks?

Ponder your answer before responding. Or are you asking for a double standard that applies to everyone not you.

Will no longer respond to trolls.  They bring the collective IQ down so much.  The new WAC will not be the current WAC.  They have told that but it always goes in their a** rather than their mindless brain.

Hey I get it. You miss spoke in another one of your rambling predictions and cant admit it.  Carry on.

Am projecting the the Summit League will be shored up with the Montanas, Idaho and Weber St at the early date.

TSL will have to play FCS for a couple seasons and then move football over to the WAC for just two seasons to get FBS.

When those eight now FBS are back, the Summit League would be a stand-alone FBS League.

Can you have separate conference affiliations at the FBS level? I thought they had to be all sports conferences.

The Summit won't be FBS until after they have all transitioned to FBS.  The WAC can give out affiliate memberships for FBS to anyone they like.  The Summit just needs eight FBS playing schools and then it's an FBS conference per the NCAA.  Denver, Omaha and even Augie or Seattle can just tag along.

Think the WAC might invite 24 schools altogether so all the transition teams from the Summit, WAC and ASUN (CAA fb mostly) have plenty of possible games.  Just like the MAC when transitioned FBS schools have finished, those FBS affiliate invites will go their separate ways (UCF, UMass).

i've been saying for a while that the big 10 will go after kansas, north carolina, notre dame (100 percent conf member), and virginia when the alignment starts again.

Notre Dame might go...but what is in it for them?  They get 5 ACC games annually, Stanford, USC, Navy.  8 annual games there.  Plus another marquee matchup against a big name (currently have Michigan, UGA, TAMU, Alabama, Ohio State, Wisconsin) lined up. This year appears to prove an elite season by them gets them into the CFP so...why give that up?

They've turned down the B1G multiple times in the past.  I'd expect ND to end up full-time ACC before going B1G.  And if ND goes ACC, I can't imagine North Carolina or Virginia leaving.

I’m with Johnnyboy this, Notre Dame has too much animus towards the Big Ten historically to ever have its football in the B1G.

With the B1G now at 14, the league almost can’t go much bigger as there would be major scheduling and championship issues.  Why water down the chances of Ohio St, Mich, or Penn St getting a CFP bid?

Kansas and Oklahoma can probably pried out of the Big 12, but why not then split the B1G into a Great Plains conference and a Great Lakes Conference?

The B1G went for Rutgers instead of playing the long game for Va and UNC.  Those schools fanbases would barf at northern schools, except those cities are now liberal bastions.  It needs at least a generation more to happen.  UNC and Duke May hate each other on the surface, but they know they need each other.

Serious question...

What would be the appeal of being FBS G5 when Central Florida has won 25 in a row and is still not even considered for the FBS playoffs?

There is no appeal. No G5 team will be allowed in the FBS power 5 playoff, unless they allow all FBS conference winners which will never happen. UCF is the deterrent in moving up, first Boise State got all the snubs in the polls, now we see UCF getting snubbed. Do Bison fans think they will be the first to get into the FBS playoffs with Bama, Okalahoma and the big dogs? App State won the Sun Belt and their prize is Middle Tennessee St in the New Orelans Bowl.

FCS title or New Orelans Bowl Hmmm.

10-2 Utah State goes to the heralded New Mexico Bowl. G5 makes no sense whatsoever.

Give the G5 a spot in an expanded playoff or create a new division of football and let them play for a championship.  Something needs to be done.

To answer to zonadub question on why UND should go FBS after UCF got rejected from the CFB after two unbeaten seasons.

The national status of FBS is so much more than FCS.  For lower level teams, going FBS would be equivalent to tens of millions in advertising annually even for G5’s.

This year marks the second year in a row that the Big Ten and PAC12 didn’t get CFP teams.  Those two conferences will be pushing for an expanded 8 team tournament behind the scenes. Even the Big 12 realizes that the CFP 4 has become an SEC invitational, as Georgia would have got in at OUs expense if they had held on against Bama.

UND and the other FCS  regional flagship schools will join together because our Presidents see wisdom in doing that and going FBS.  Under no illusion that that new “Great Northern “ League competes with the SEC but it will be better than the SunBelt academically and athletically.

For UND, as a pilot training site for two national airlines with guaranteed jobs with a “B” average, that is a huge motivator for parents and their kids nationally.  UND should have a 20,000 enrollment with proper advertising and awareness.  UND will have the space, as it hardly uses the old med school and more facilities such as the new business school will be built.

The new CFP may pay as much as $2 million annually per G5 school and a couple multimillion P5 games per season can be had.  The cost will be less than FCS if a 15k stadium is donated or renovated for that capacity.

A time is coming when the NCAA will split.  Unless UND spends and attracts big in men’s basketball ( which won’t happen), FBS is important as the FBS/FCS fracture line will be the key differentiator.  Even if P5 alone splits, at least the G5 will have their own playoff system that will get many more eyeballs than FCS.  Hockey will want and need FBS.

Interesting that EWU plans for a 16k expanded stadium are finalized by Jan 2019.   Their new AD came from UTSA, and she has had experience in taking a school to FBS.

They have been working on plans for this stadium for years.  Chaves failed epically, because the school can't fundraise for !@#$.  They aren't going FBS even if the wanted to.

The EWU board is rather optimistic now and they have the revised plans on the site though less expensive bare bones 16k than when Chaves was there.   EWU FBS would make the Idaho and Montanas so much easier for travel.  EWU would like ULMonroe going FBS, and Spokane has more corporate presence.

EWU will be isolated from other conference mates if it doesn’t move up.   The Montanas and now Idaho make a large portion of their gate.  The EWU President seems to be FBS or the athletic department can be discarded.

The EWU plan will be implemented in phases, which means that there isn't enough support to fundraise 20-25m for a terribly outdated stadium, at a winning program.  Spokane doesn't care about EWU.  They will be lucky if they end up with a stadium on par with Kent State, which also isn't an FBS quality stadium.  None of these western FCS schools are going to invest in FBS until the G5 and P5 split, and then it won't really be FBS anymore, it will be something different, and an elaborate WAC FBS plan will not be necessary, because the rules will change.  I think you're too focused on the current FBS requirements, and need to be more open minded to the likelihood of rules changing, in regard to programs moving up to join the G5.
