Goon Posted July 6 Posted July 6 More good news for the south end of Grand Forks, ND. Quote “The Washington corridor is really buzzing,” said Russel Crary, sales manager for Crary Real Estate. Development along the corridor has been mostly between 36th Avenue and 47th Avenue, according toRyan Brooks, Grand Forks city planner. In addition to the new McDonald’s and Starbucks locations, the city’s map of planning projects shows five approved commercial projects along that section of South Washington Street. As of July 1, the project plan for the new Starbucks is under review. Crary Real Estate finalized the sale of the land to McDonald’s on June 18, signing the deed to the land over to the fast food chain, according to Crary. The new location, located on the northwest corner of the 40th Avenue intersection, will be the fourth McDonald's in Grand Forks. Quote

Interesting. Could last nearly a year - brings with it 800 additional airmen. "He said the base is making arrangements to house airmen in area hotels and apartments as well as putting up temporary hangars for winter maintenance on some plans and making “modest upgrades” to some base offices." While the 319th does not fly combat aircraft, the air base is set to house aircraft evacuated from other air bases during extreme weather events, particularly from hurricane-prone areas on the Atlantic and Gulf coasts, so those units can continue to operate. ... When those facilities aren’t being used for evacuation, the air base will support long-range combat training exercises called Agile Combat Employment. The former GFAFB B-52s and B-1s would "fly south" during blizzards. seems somewhat relevant... Quote
