Dagger Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 The Big Sky is looking better all the time. The Big Sky conference is spread out but most of the locations are great. A nice variety of locations. For the most part very appealing. All games are televised. I am loving the Big Sky. .Much more attractive than the alphabet soup Summit ( i guess they are getting rid of some of the letters).. 1 Quote
darell1976 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 With people on BV continuing to bash the Big Sky do we want them to join? Or woul it be better to have them stuck on an island as a team without an AQ conference. Quote

Cratter Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 UND needs to be open to NDSU....Then one-day we can form our own lil WAC/MAC. Montana's, Dakotas, Idaho. Quote

dlsiouxfan Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 NDSU will have an option of begging to get into the Big Sky and likely getting in with UND's help or spending the rest of their days in a Summit/ GWFC combo league with SDSU, USD, and schools like NJIT and whatever new Division II move-up wants to park their athletic program for a couple of years. Risky Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Apparently Oakland is as good as gone from the Summit for next year too. It is getting interesting. Quote

mg2009 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Awfully negative tone for a UND fan. i think UND is too good for the sky too, if it makes you feel better. What are those conferences again? Why hasn't FU left for them yet? because they were already in a competitive conference with their traditional rivals in convenient travel distance? Quote
darell1976 Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 They will have for full DI members next year: NDSU SDSU USD DU Oakland WIU IPFW IUPUI 8 teams...isn't 7 the minimum for an AQ conference? Quote
jodcon Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Apparently Oakland is as good as gone from the Summit for next year too. It is getting interesting. If Oakland goes it's dominoes time. Quote
homer Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 The Summit has always been a revolving door conference. This should surprise no one. 1 Quote
homer Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 because they were already in a competitive conference with their traditional rivals in convenient travel distance? But what are the options they have? That travel distance you mentioned is going to always be a big factor for FU. Quote

bincitysioux Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 More rumors that NDSU will be joining the MVF to replace Creighton. Where there's smoke there's fire... If NDSU gets into The Valley, then the Valley is planning on losing a helluva lot more than Creighton............... There is going to be alot of change because of the Big East split. The Catholic 7 are going to pull from the A-10 and MVC. That is almost a fact. The A-10 and MVC are going to replenish themselves pretty much every donor conference east of the Rockies and will probably affect the Horizon, the MAAC, the OVC, the Summit, the NEC, the CAA, and even more. homer Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 More rumors that NDSU will be joining the MVF to replace Creighton. Where there's smoke there's fire... Started FU fans? FU will not be a direct replacement for Creighton. It will take a lot of realignment before that happens. Quote
darell1976 Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 More rumors that NDSU will be joining the MVF to replace Creighton. Where there's smoke there's fire... Why would NDSU be picked over SDSU to replace Creighton? They both have 1 title in men's basketball, SDSU has 4 straight titles in women's basketball. The only sports NDSU has outdone the Jacks (other than football) is softball and volleyball. Doesn't the Jacks have the geography advantage? Quote
GeauxSioux Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Times like this are when I miss Star (siouxfan) the most. If you seek wisdom you can find it... Scout.com: OFFICIAL: UMKC to WAC Quote
Cratter Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Yup. Most likely the valley conferences are merging. It'll be sdsu USD and ndsu. Quote
