YouTube thought I needed to watch this...

Fairly close to the end is a former Sioux player mentioned by the commentator.  Watching closely a name on the back of jersey also raised an eyebrow. Enjoy.

Very interesting.  That one clip of Trognitz skating made him look like a bottom line Bantam B skater.  What a bloodbath hockey was back then.  So many names referenced seem to have been inspiration for Slapshot characters, and the feel of that video also had a Slapshot vibe to it overall.  My guess is the eyebrow raising nameplate was "B Melrose"?

Yeah ...  Melrose, perhaps our favorite announcing imbiber..  and I also noticed the Slapshot name connections.  Next video was on TJ Oshie relative Henry Boucha but my computer crashed during the video and I didn't go back to finish.

Per the FLA release: "The first year of Kiersted's contract (2022-23) will be a two-way contract, and the second (2023-24) will be a one-way contract."

Translated? They expect him to bounce up and down this season and be steady up in 2023-24 (because they don't want to be paying $775k to someone in the minors).

Tyson Jost should get his name on The Cup per many cites on the Internet. A player has to play 41 games for the championship team. An old NHL.com entry states,

To have one's name engraved on the Stanley Cup certain requirements must be met. A player must have at least 41 games played with the club or one game played in the Stanley Cup Finals. However, in 1994 a stipulation was added to allow a team to petition the Commissioner for permission to have players' names put on the Cup if extenuating circumstances prevented them from being available to play."

Per hockeydb.com, Jost played 59 games for the Avs this past season.

He'll get a ring sometime next season maybe, but would you want the name there?

Even a ring...  that would be tough to have around

Dallas declined to offer sheet Kawaguchi. Hope he gets a game in the N at some point.

This does not surprise.  It took him a couple of years to get up to speed in the NCAA.   Once he got there, he was terrific, but it did not bode well for his NHL chances, IMO.
