I really have never gotten excited about playing Idaho State. I think we can do better and nothing to gain.  And going back a bit, a home and home with LIU seems even more stupid. Are we on an upward trajectory or downward? SU fans must be laughing their ass off.

SU has Stetson, New Haven, and eastern Illinois at home this year. Must be a program on a downward trajectory

I agree on LIU.   We're always looking for the easy win but these guys are just horrible.   Chaves needs to at least schedule respectable teams.   I'm not sure what to think about Idaho State.   They have never been very good but at least they aren't Long Island University and not on probation.

Wasn’t it Idaho state that crapped on UND years back to play a money against an FBs team, I think the buyout was something like $25000

Yes it was Idaho State and their AD was an asshat about it. Rather than play an obscure NY school maybe play a regional D2 power and get some fan interest. Risky though.

D2 games are kryptonite. LIU was not on probation when they were scheduled.

They do?  I thought they had Jacksonville and maybe Sac State?

The real SU has those teams at home

The schedule is about perfect.  You need a couple cupcakes to both pad your record and get the 2nd and 3rd string players experience.  We will have a bunch of quality games during the conference season.  In FCS football you can't have more than 1 N/C loss and expect to go far in the Playoffs.  Having a FBS team on the schedule we need to win all the other N/C games before the Conference season starts.  Its important to get a top 4 seed IMO.

2026:  LIU, StT, @Portland St, @Nebraska

2027: @LIU, Idaho, @Iowa, (TBD) - home game needed

2028: @Min, Morehead St, @Idaho, (TBD) - home game needed.

2029: Idaho St @Iowa St

2030: @Min

2031: @Idaho St.

These are the game I know about and I am not sure should they be nervious about needing home games in 2027 and 2028 at this point.
