The Sicatoka
I like that UND "looks" like a campus with a theme or consistent look to major facilties. I also like that some of the rundown facilities were cleaned out a couple years ago. University Ave will have a much cleaner, consistent, campus look.

jdub27
Some progress on the mixed-use project at the site of Memorial Stadium: https://knoxradio.com/news/local/gf-development-projects Quote The proposed Memorial Village redevelopment would consist of a five story building on the site of the Old M emorial Stadium. The first floor would serve as the new home of UND Athletics. The upper floors would become market rent apartments. The price-tag of the project is estimated at $25 million dollars. The Sicatoka
I wonder if something like "The Lights" (see GF Economy thread) would work there. An outside concert venue by the EERC and the railyard would disturb exactly ... no one*. Pondering further ... put a parking ramp at the east end of the "bridge to nowhere" (for this facility) and a skyway to these apartments and suddenly you have a lot of weather-free walkable apartments. *OK, OK, ... it might upset a couple pigeons that live under the Overpass. I googled it and found the tif proposal that was submitted to the city council. Huge change in that it looks like the athletic department would occupy the entire first floor, including possibly coaches offices. I would hope and expect that everything for football would stay in phase two of the hpc. Renderings are included - needs more brick and creativity imo. Proposal does include a covered walkway to hpc though. https://www.grandforksgov.com/home/showdocument?id=36223

Proposal does include a covered walkway to hpc though. https://www.grandforksgov.com/home/showdocument?id=36223 Some further detail: Quote Project Description: Memorial Stadium Redevelopment - ln response to a solicitation from the University of North Dakota (UND), Memorial Village, LLC plans to construct a prominent 5-story mixed use building with underground parking to replace the existing Memorial stadium. The project endeavors to capture the historical character of Memorial stadium, complement the architectural character of UND, enhance the Columbia Road entrance to UND, enhance undergraduate enrollment at UND, and support the academic, athletic, and business goals of the UND Athletic Department. Grand Forks and UND are one community and what is good for UND is good for the city of Grand Forks. Proposed project renderings and other support documents are attached. The first floor will serve as the new home of the UND Athletic Department as well as possibly coaches offices and meeting rooms for Football, Men's and Women's cross country/Track & Field, Men's and women's Tennis, and Women's Softball. A HAWKway is also proposed to save the existing historical north wall of Memorial Stadium around the football field and track, connect Memorial Village to the existing and expanded High Performance Center (HPC), and showcase the history of UND Athletics. lf the coaches' offices and meeting rooms are moved from the planned HPC expansion to Memorial Village, UND will be able to reduce the scope of the HPC Expansion, creating a more realistic private fund raise and accelerating the timeline for the critically needed HPC Expansion. The HPC has already proven to be a major public asset for the city of Grand Forks with both public athletic uses and public good uses, such as recent COVID 19 testing.

SIOUXFAN97
on university ave they finally finished the landscaping down the middle...they have some cool internally lit oblisks...seem to be a simple hollow design with led lights inside them...assuming they are much cheaper than the lights proposed downtown that are suposed to lit from inside with blue lights... maybe the city can copy the university and maybe save a few bucks...
