To add to this, as someone on here had previously mentioned, the games where he had lots of rushing attempts were games we lost.

- 13 attempts against USD (this is when the season turned for him and his play declined) Schedule got much better so that factors in too

- 17 attempts against NDSU

- 14 attempts against SDSU

The season is long and grueling already, putting this much on him at the end certainly didn’t help.

Didn't realize he had that many attempts in those games, that is a lot! Seems like if the defense is tough and shuts down our RB's then it forces more QB runs. OL needs to get better and better WR's so cant stack the box.  5-8 attempts a game on average seems like a decent number. Run QB enough to keep them honest, and when you need it.

I keep wondering. Isn't it bad to have alot transfer out after getting a new head coach and assistant coaches?  Wouldn't that kill any momentium the team built through the season.

The QB should not be the leading rusher

If they were impact players, yes, but that's not been the case with most of the players so far.  Most of these guys will either drop down a division or retire from football, which happened quietly before the transfer portal.

No, they’re freeing up spots to bring more of their own guys in after a year of evaluating.

Not necessarily. The people transferring out were not recruited by the current staff. There will always be impact players transferring away at the FCS level, but some of it is good for roster construction/makeup especially entering year 2 and trying to overhaul a roster to fit the type of players you want.

You don't think our go to play the second half of the season where Jerry would fake it to Sawyer and then follow him through a non existent hole should be a staple of our offense next season?

We should continue to run that on every 3rd and 4th and short and have it not work in critical situations!

I think after year 1.  In year 1 you need to make due with a lot of the guys previously on the team.  After that you can recruit HS players and portal players and have honest conversations with the current players about there future.  To much is going on in the first year to get exactly who you want in to program.

This is a read by the QB. It's an RPO. Why he would fake to the RB then follow him in the non-existent hole is beyond comprehension

I get that, but it rarely worked so quit calling it. I would hope they work with Kaminski to get him comfortable under center...use a fullback and/or an extra tight end and take advantage of our offensive line....was so frustrating to watch down the stretch.

Are you saying he made the incorrect read time and time again? Because typically you would either hand it off or throw it. Occasionally you might follow after realizing the throw isn’t there.

Made bad reads and bad throws … regressed in second half. 

Second season starting will help. More experience. He needs help also, need more playmakers on the outside and need to get more consistent in the running game. O-line returning should help a ton.

Glad to have Jerry back, but it's really hard to believe he had a significant FBS offer.  I'm sure anything is possible these days.  Take a look at the MVFC stats: https://valley-football.org/stats.aspx?path=football&year=2025

7th in efficiency, 3-way tie for 2nd in TD, 8th in completion % (over 10% lower than the top 2), 2nd most interceptions with 12 (one of only 3 with more than 7).  Not to mention just how lost he looked the last few games of the year.

Koi Perich from Gophers entering portal. Read earlier they were expecting he’d cost $1M+ and sounded like they’d pay it.  Wonder what he’ll be getting somewhere else.

He got a million+ last season and then had some other side deals with a few companies like UNRL.

Supposedly the biggest reason is he will go to a program that is perennial championship contender.

Tough one to take but more so because of the story than the actual production this season. Homestate kid turns down the blue bloods and makes an impact as a true freshman, more kids than I have ever seen running around in jerseys with #3 on it. He is the guy at Minnesota and he probably got away with some things other guys can't. The million+ that they now have to spend in the trenches is nice but its hard to still not be disappointed by this move.
