hockeytherapy13 Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM Posted yesterday at 03:52 AM I don’t know what everyone else thought, but even though UNO had us on our heels for a while in the 3rd, we didn’t go into prevent turtle mode like we used to. We still sent 2 guys in on the forecheck instead of just 1 and keeping everyone else back like we used to do when we’d just let teams walk back into the game. 1 Quote

I couldn't tell if he scored or the puck hit the side of the net based on his call. Yes Tim is only working home games this year. Quote
Wilbur Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Posted yesterday at 01:44 PM Good weekend. Both goalies locked in, with Homer the first star on Saturday. I'm glad Jax pointed out the group didn't play great but got through it last night. Onward. 2 Quote

scpa0305 Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Posted yesterday at 04:19 PM Love that we’re getting solid goaltending from both I’ve hated the past few years when we’ve rolled one so hard. Play dips for a minute and you’re stuck with either the one or the the guy who’s never played. Quote
Dustin Posted yesterday at 04:28 PM Posted yesterday at 04:28 PM Interesting that we play both series with Omaha in the first half of the season. they're back in GF in just over a month. Quote

Reschny and Verhoeff will likely be gone for that series for Canada’s world juniors camp. I am not sure about the Americans. We could potentially be without Swanson, Zellers, and Emery as well. I do not know when their camp begins. Quote

Don’t mind playing the hot goalie when big games dictate, but I think the coaches know the team play in front of both goalies so far has not been apples to apples. Not saying Homer hasn’t had some issues, but the last time out against Duluth, the cross ice goals would be impossible for anyone. Cleaned that up the next night. Just like it isn’t always on the quarterback when the offense stinks, you need to take everything into account when deciding whether team play or individual performance is the problem. 4 Quote
Popular Post Goon Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Posted 21 hours ago I don't know about y'all, but I never felt that UND was going to lose last night's game. Was it a tight game? Of course. UND frustrated the Mavericks throughout the weekend. There is definitely a difference in talent level between UND and Omaha. I saw many things this past weekend that gave me hope. This team is one of the younger ones in college hockey, and they're making great strides. I have been impressed with the CHL kids, as well as the freshmen, such as Kernan and Zellers. Are there things that need to be cleaned up? Yes, 100 percent. Mac Swanson is starting to excel and make plays. If UND has a two-headed monster in the net, that would be a good thing, too. 3 4 Quote
Kevin G Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago A road sweep is so hard to accomplish, kudos to the team. And you can see that they’re not near their ceiling yet. They can be turnover prone at times. 1 2 Quote

Popular Post tnt Posted 20 hours ago Popular Post Posted 20 hours ago Just so impressed with Reschny’s maturity. Most young guys drafted so high would be concerned about the numbers they are putting up, but he just consistently is doing the right things and is hugely noticeable for the right reasons. There are so many times where he could have been selfish and shot the puck more or tried to do too much. He reminds me a lot of Tyson Jost, not only because of his number and stature, but he is very mature and responsible. One can hope that, unlike Jost we can get two years out of him, although the way Calgary is going, they probably will want him ASAP. They may need a bigger building process anyway, so hopefully they see the wisdom in letting him develop and be a cornerstone rather than a guy that has moved around a bit like Jost. I am super excited about Reschny because he basically moved up the draft board last year because of his dominant play in the post season. Hopefully he has the chance with us to do the same. He is a gamer, and is just starting to be more comfortable and find his stride. His numbers so far don’t accurately portray his value to the team, but I think most of us can see the extent of his value. 5 Quote

It had nothing to do with this series, but it did have to do with the fans reaction, check that some fans reactions. The wavelength of the variation from minute to minute game to game player to player played itself out perfectly. The accusations that I’m not in North Dakota fan aside, the comments regarding playing Homer started out like what the hell are they doing, to a masterstroke of coaching genius. Like I said wavelengths. Have a great day. Quote
