Reading some of these posts you'd think that UND was swept this weekend. I think UND played a good road game and ran into the proverbial hot goalie that had a great weekend. I was impressed with how the boys responded by playing a lot more responsible. They came out and played on their tows most of the night. Moving on to the Bulldogs.

Yeah, we’re six games in, and people already have notions on how good or bad we’ll be from one night to the next.  Obviously, Miami is going to win the National Championship because they are undefeated!
Would rather build to something than start out as a house on fire, then watch other teams grow as a team and surpass us.  Having said that, a win tonight was important, because you don’t want to have no room for error early on.

Never thought I’d be happy to return to NCHC reffing. This weekend was beyond a gong show for officiating.

And that no penalty call on the open net play was the cherry on top

They are always so bad no matter where you go out East I just expect it now.  I couldn’t watch either game due to family stuff but from the sound of things if these were the same refs who did our series at Cornell last year I would not have been surprised.

At times this weekend, it seemed as if the linesmen dropping the puck thought they were the stars of the show. My god, they d*cked around so much doing faceoffs.

That is getting to be a big problem every game.

If you can believe it, it was worse than normal.

The Brendan O’Donnell 2 minutes for getting slashed was the worst.

And some of us have the added advantage of seeing it all from their box on the Ledge.

Obviously you haven’t seen Anthony Vikhter in action yet…

I’m guessing that’s because we got spanked by clarkson on Friday then eked out a win in one of the most boring unskilled hockey games ever

Think the biggest takeaway from last night is the team was willing to sacrifice some offense to go out and find a way to win a pretty meaningful game from the pairwise perspective.

Considering the group of forwards being relatively young they overall did a good job of picking their spots with dumping the puck and forechecking the hell out of their D vs when they realized they had a transition opportunity and could carry the puck.

The NPI is used now. Similar to the KRACH that CHN uses. Strength of schedule and winning percentage based. Less focus on head to head matchups.

Friday night was an unmitigated disaster. That being said, it's still October and this team is still figuring itself out.

The bell was donated by the fraternity that sits around it. It’s not associated with the college.

Schloss stated the bell is actually a boxing bell, rung when Clarkson player hits an opponent

Yeah, it was super annoying after a while.

Oh FFS! Did you even watch the game? Yes, they got beat, but give their goalie some credit. I also thought UND was okay, not great. Also, the officiating was atrocious, too. Whether we want to admit it or not UND is a very young team. There's going to be some growing pains. Jax said as much at the UND media day.  Yes, they got beat on Friday, but I wouldn't classify it as an unmitigated disaster. That was last season. Actually, I saw a few things that give me hope for this season.

I agree with Goon on this one.  These types of games happen.  It's a road game in a small town requiring both flying and busing against an unfamiliar opponent salivating at playing one of the western powers in their own barn.  A lot of the college hockey blue bloods don't make a trip like this for the very reason we saw on Friday night.  A game like this will hopefully make the team stronger and more adept for uncomfortable situations down the road.  The result sucked, but I still think they kept fighting and skating, just made a lot of mistakes in the midst of all that.

I was impressed with the adjustments Jax and Company made. Everyone had their man last night. They took time and space away. I was also impressed to see a win in the “Black Business Suits”.
