  1. I saw the McNally article (she has a great future in sports media if she pursue that route given what she's done the past ~4 years). He's basically a mercenary, which is to be expected in this current climate. ECAC schools haven't had to deal with this on such a significant scale until recently, but Jones rightfully realizes that there are some players who actually want to play at a school like Cornell (hence the four transfer player entries in the past four years). As for Yale, we'll see how that goes with the new coach. If it's up to the alumni, fine, but it'll be a tough hill to climb given the state of the program.
  2. Maybe Malinoski thrives in a different environment under a new system. PC under Leaman hasn't exactly been a high-powered offensive team, as he tends to coach a more defensive structured style and usually can't get the same kind of high-end talent that some other schools in HEA can.
  3. Yale continuing to be a doormat is bad for the conference. Unfortunately, I think that will be so as long as that AD is in place. A shame given the location and how pretty that campus is
  4. Yeah, that's why I mentioned Big 10 although the money could be dubious given that it's Wisconsin. The previous Cornell transfer to a Big 10 team (Robertson) seemed to do it because of more resources for athletics (including scholarships, which the Ivys don't offer due to policy) and the ability to play in a better conference, which seems to have worked out for him so far except for the lack of a national championship. Cournoyer's transfer is evidently a different situation, and unlike Michigan, Wisconsin hasn't exactly been much of a contender the past 10-15 years. Even Cornell has many more NCAA appearances over that time
  5. Some folks think there was stuff going on behind the scenes between the timing of the announcement and the fact that he wasn't at the team's awards banquet. Also, I can't imagine he would be guaranteed the starting spot over Hauser and that he won't have to split time. Odd decision unless you consider academics, wanting to play in the Big 10, or both. Regardless, Cornell did pick up Mathis Rousseau from Maine, so that seems to fill the need.
  6. Philadelphia would be great again and the airport is very well connected. The arena isn't in the center of the city, but it's really not a big deal with the quick 20-25 minute subway ride from city hall. Not sure what the appetite is for another FF there.
  7. I thought it was a joke at first. Cornell is screwed next season barring a miracle, because he was a big reason they even got into the NCAA's and Denver would've scored more than 4 (the 5th goal was ENG) if he wasn't in net for that game.
  8. He was unbearable in the Loveland regional
  9. That's a good get for WMU. Neumeier was one of Colgate's few very good players
  10. Buccigross and Cohen are like nails on a chalkboard. The next time they're assigned to a regional I'm watching, I'll just go without audio
  11. I surmise that's mostly because he was able to get Dartmouth to play above expectations and make the NCAA's for the first time in over four decades. He also won ECAC coach of the year, which I don't agree with (should've gone to Syer at Princeton)
  12. Q's goalie situation has been terrible for the past two seasons. I could've sworn they had a well-regarded freshman coming in next season, but maybe I'm mistaking them for another team in the conference.
  13. 10G, 12 A in 16 OOC games. Except for Notre Dame and UND, all opponents were AHA and HEA. 15 G, 22 A in ECAC play
  14. Apparently his family wants him to stick at Q for a while and get his education, so I'd be surprised to see him leave before the end of his junior year. Both his dad and his uncle are Cornell alums although he wasn't considering Cornell as far as I know
  15. Cornell loses two players as Jonathan Castagna and Hoyt Stanley sign deals with Calgary and Ottawa, respectively. Castagna was fully expected after Utah traded him but Stanley was out of nowhere (although I can't say I'll miss watching him)
