GFG Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 per @mnprospects on Twitter "Charlie Sampair of Hill-Murray stated that he might take his chances in the WHL next season with the Victoria Royals." Big mistake IMO Quote

siouxforce19 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 per @mnprospects on Twitter "Charlie Sampair of Hill-Murray stated that he might take his chances in the WHL next season with the Victoria Royals." Big mistake IMO Who? Just kidding. I had heard of the kid before. That would be a ginormous mistake. WHL is for players that are going to play in the NHL in two years or less, generally. If that's not you, I think you're throwing a lot away. Quote
GFG Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Any idea what kind of college offers he has? Not exactly sure. Just heard he doesn't have a ton of colleges after him. Maybe he had a couple set that he wanted to attend and never got any interest from them? Who? Just kidding. I had heard of the kid before. That would be a ginormous mistake. WHL is for players that are going to play in the NHL in two years or less, generally. If that's not you, I think you're throwing a lot away. Exactly. From what I saw in the game today the kid has some definite potential to be a role player on an NCAA team. Probably not star caliber, but who cares. Quote
gfhockey Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Where is moorheads goalie going? Looks like a stud to me Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Where is moorheads goalie going? Looks like a stud to me Thought the announcer said juniors in Alexandria, but not sure. I know he is a real good baseball player too. Quote
GFG Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Thought the announcer said juniors in Alexandria, but not sure. I know he is a real good baseball player too. Nowhere as of now. Like you said, just going to play Juniors in Alex for now Quote
petey23 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Nowhere as of now. Like you said, just going to play Juniors in Alex for now Alexandria is his fall back plan. I would be shocked if he isn't in the USHL next year. Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Alexandria is his fall back plan. I would be shocked if he isn't in the USHL next year. Watching him play I find it hard to believe he won't get an offer from somewhere along the way, he is so calm and positionally sound in the net, actually reminds me a lot of Gothberg when he played in high school. Siouxhockey78 Posted March 8, 2012 Posted March 8, 2012 Oh I sure there is many recruiters watching this tourney to find a dimound in a the rough. Quote
AZSIOUX Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Anyone know of Riley Simpson? Younger brother of Dillon...is he college bound? Quote
Siouxhockey78 Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Anyone know of Riley Simpson? Younger brother of Dillon...is he college bound? He plays for Ohio State unless there is another Riley Simpson Quote
Big A HG Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 He plays for Ohio State unless there is another Riley Simpson That's a different Simpson. Quote
UND99 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Riley is a 1996 BY, plays in the AMHL with SSAC Athletics, the same program Dillon and Sioux commit Adam Tambellini played for. Quote
Ranger Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 I wonder how Mr. Jones' experience was "cultureshocked" Quote
MissSioux85 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 "cultureshocked" I think that might be an inside joke with his teammates. His teammate used that same hashtag when talking about taking his SAT's: @M_Grzelcyk7 Currently waiting to get into my class to take the SAT's. Shouldn't be happening on a game day, that's for sure #cultureshocked Quote
Cratter Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 unfortunately smallest crowd of the season, student were on spring break. Quote
LeftyZL Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 unfortunately smallest crowd of the season, student were on spring break. Still the biggest crowd in the conference and maybe the nation last night. 1 Quote
MissSioux85 Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 unfortunately smallest crowd of the season, student were on spring break. Even so, I thought it was a good crowd. There were multiple "Let's Go Sioux" chants throughout the game and the crowd cheered many big saves, hard hits, etc. Sure, it wasn't as rowdy as usual, but it wasn't a total morgue either. Quote
Fetch Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 They called & asked me if I'd play my last yr of eligibility - but I was mad about the name at the time & refused to not wear the Logo Quote
Goon Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 (edited) Even so, I thought it was a good crowd. There were multiple "Let's Go Sioux" chants throughout the game and the crowd cheered many big saves, hard hits, etc. Sure, it wasn't as rowdy as usual, but it wasn't a total morgue either. I thought it was a decent crowd for it being spring break. I also thought it was pretty loud in there last night. Edited March 10, 2012 by Goon Quote
