Siouxperman8 Posted yesterday at 03:34 PM Posted yesterday at 03:34 PM Difference for me last night was I really thought we could win for most of the game. Other years when we fell behind FBS teams in second half I just hoped they wouldn’t bust a couple long runs late and make the score a blowout. have to admit I wasn’t thinking good thoughts early in second half but they went away quickly. 2
siouxweet Posted yesterday at 03:58 PM Posted yesterday at 03:58 PM Before we start planning our trips to Nashville UND had one advantage last night that won't be there much longer. With a brand new coaching staff the opponent last night didn't have a lot to prepare for and that element will go away week by week. With that being said last night was a breath of fresh air as it appears UND Football is on the track to being relevant again. 9-3 or 8-4 and top 4 finish in the Valley seeming very realistic with some playoff games at the Alerus a good possibility.
wheelsup Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM Posted yesterday at 04:03 PM Lots of nitpicking around the edges… but this teams is much improved. Many had us as as 3.. 4.. 5 TD underdogs are now suddenly expert play callers in a close game on the road in a packed house. * offense looks good.. love the improvement at the QB position. Siedl seems like the real deal and would like to see more of the inside run game with Z * defense looks greatly improved.. catch a couple INTs and we win this game by 2-3 TDs * ST looked solid last two minutes of the game baffled me.. should have won. First game with a new coaching staff and I expect they will improve week by week. 1
SIOUXFAN97 Posted yesterday at 04:06 PM Posted yesterday at 04:06 PM We aint gonna win a lot of games if we don't "play to win the game."

That is true. Although this is year 2 of Fruechte and the offense was similar to last year. I’d imagine Schmidt’s defense last year at SDSU was good film for them as well.

We catch one of those 5 dropped picks and it’s a win. What a performance either way. Quit bitching so much, we had no idea what kind of team we had going in and we just showed serious guts on the road against a ranked FBS team. Lots to build on, we will improve this year. We played our hearts out and put ourselves in a position to win only to have it undone by extremely poor play calling - we deserve to bitch a bit - especially since it brought back memories of Bubba’s game management style. Also - what are the odds anyone in the press will ask about the calls on our last possession - another frustration Edited yesterday at 04:39 PM by Irish Add last sentence 2 1 2
HoopsFan03 Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM Posted yesterday at 04:27 PM Was in a wedding last night so missed most of the game. Was able to catch most of the 4th quarter though. We looked like a completely different team than last year! In a good way! Also love that we got our QB1 in Jerry Football! 3 1

Jerry my be the TRUTH and I don't know if we are mentally ready for that, he made one bad throw the whole game. The OC needs to figure his !@#$ out but we are deep at WR and TE, RB is interesting cause our leading back from last year only played a few snaps. I think 8 wins is the minimum expectation now. Don’t forget the 4 interceptions that were in our hands that were dropped…..
Popular Post Siouxperfan7 Posted yesterday at 05:19 PM Popular Post Posted yesterday at 05:19 PM UND scored more points on the road against K-State (35) than we did last year on the road against Indiana State (31). Yeah, this year is different!! 4 2
Und Princess Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I thought we had the game last night!!! I started taking pictures to use for my blog!!! Then what the heck. We lost. 2
SIOUXFAN97 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago congrats ike and olson on that last td run of ss...perfectly executed!! can't really tell for sure but was that 80 (missery st transfer?) that came down in motion and pancaked a wildcat in the hole? lots of k state players onthe ground!!! 1 2
Popular Post Longtime fan Posted 21 hours ago Popular Post Posted 21 hours ago Mixed emotion's for me. On one hand it was most definitely a game und should have won. On the other hand und was suppose to get blown out of the water. Hate moral victories as much as the next person but bubba would have had no chance in this game. Eric needs to clean up a few things but there’s just a different feel now. Swagger. Football toughness. Aggressive. You could see players put it on the line for this coaching staff. Bubbas teams folded by way of his o gosh I golly attitude. I look at three specifics last night: -Und easily should have had 4 INTs. would have been fine with 2 of them. Need to clean that up -the last offensive drive. You need to be a risk taker when you’re playing a very good team. Settling for gut runs to the clock (which in return burned very little time ) was giving the game away . Wasn’t working all game. Why waste the opportunity here!? Jerry should have been given the keys for an rpo on all the plays. They only needed ONE first down to ice it ! Damn ! -the last defensive drive . So frustrating!!! For the life of me I will never understand why coaches go to prevent D!??? Never works on any level. Their qb had all day to read his routes with those talented receivers. Stick with what was working . They are an explosive team and und pulls off of being the aggressor. Their qb absolutely loved it . Lost opportunity . Time to focus on Portland st . Put an absolute ass kicking on them and come out injury free. Montana game will be the game where I feel we can gauge this team. 2 5
Oxbow6 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago #62 (So.) Ben Buxa lead the team's post game on field prayer. That's leadership from an underclassmen. Good stuff. 4

CMSioux Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Little insights: That missed interception in the endzone for huge- instead of having the ball they got the points that ended up being the difference. Announcers said JTJ couldn't find his helmet when Jerry had to come off - hoping there was a good reason, otherwise it smells like a guy that was not engaged in the game from the sidelines. Positive was the OC called a pass play on that one, instead of just running it up the gut. and JTJ made the play. Speaks of JTJ being able to make a play cold off the bench. Having a terrible third quarter and responding in the fourth. Shows we weren't gassed, in the past that is when FBS teams have run away from us. Gotta say it again - the season goes the way our OL and DL go.
Shawn-O Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Some observations: -You’d never find Manhattan without a map or GPS. No signage. -Very friendly tailgate crowd, everyone made sure we were enjoying ourselves and felt welcome. Friendlier than Ames. -No moral victories, but the two touchdowns in the fourth quarter showed us a lot. Whatever “it” is, Jerry has it. -If #2 white is going for the Blake Anderson from Workaholics look he’s nailing it. -Lots of tough looking towns in northern Kansas and Missouri. Main Street has taken a beating and we saw it on display. -Had a blast and inclined to hit another road game, maybe Vermillion. 2 1
