Socioeconomics is another part of NIL. Hockey players aren't as likely to turn around and give NIL $ to family, etc. Harvard was able to pay for their team to relocate to Florida during the pandemic due to a benefactor, likely a parent. I've also heard of more than one college team flying on the player's family's private jet. Point is, there are more players that don't see NIL money as life-changing compared to other sports. Everyone getting something, even if it is only low four figures, would help avoid resentment. We can be strategic with the pot we have.

That's a different type of portal entry, in a different region, and the seeds will definitely be scattered. ;)

Well that is big time. I really hope this pays off hugely.

For the last spot, I hope Jackson chooses an American coach.  I don't want a full staff that cheers for Canada in international competition.

Gotta love sources

I am not sure how good your sources are, but Bryn was the odds on favorite for the position. Not much digging was needed for that one.

I would like to see Jason Herter. Name him associate head coach and give him a pay bump. He's a proven winner and an alum.

I like that. Don’t know if it would happen, would he want to come to a place here he applied and didn’t get the job only to an associate HC. I guess we will see.

Heard the same at Denver

I am not 100% sure about that.

I remember when the Ivy schools would brag about their hockey players not being on athletic scholarship.
Turns out many players somehow received scholarships set up by alumni that shockingly went to really good hockey players.  It was amazing

Anyway, seems that money finds a way to go to really good athletes at colleges…

Sometimes you apply for a job with intention of a different job, or the eventual opportunity in the future.

Who knows

The longer it isn't announced the more I think it could possibly be Herter...

Is this a hope or a scoop like the rest of your predictions that came true

Niece played basketball at a D3 private school that didn't provide athletic scholarships.  Like you said, they found other scholarships via the educational path to compensate.
