Schloss….best writer in the country? Since when? The GF Herald is nothing more than a birdcage liner. Dont lose sight of the fact, they dont even publish a daily.  They quit publishing a daily because circulation was so low. People didnt want to pay to get the paper. If you read this rag….pay close attention to how many stories are actually generated by herald staffers. Majority of news is taken from national media sources. One last thing. The number of news stories you see in a newspaper…..is strictly based on how many column inches of advertising was sold. Schloss isnt even a small fish in a little pond. Schloss isnt much of a journalist. He just drinks the green koolaid that und serves him. Forget about schloss. The pipeline will yield better info than he ever will. Some many not like what ive written here. Truth is what it is. Go sioux!!!!

College athletics is a completely different world now.  To hire an old guy is questionable. 

Unless....he plans to hire several young guys that get the new, ever-changing landscape.

Perron is gone to the portal to big10 tea, save this and put it in writing. James and Livver likely sign imo

Please give me the name of a better college hockey beat writer.  I want to follow them on social media like schloss.  Go ahead i will wait ....

Hey, Berry was an NHL assistant, and Blais was an Associate for Columbus and coached the Fargo Force for a stint after that.

IMO this and only this needed to be the reason for the change.

Schloss can go on and on about other points but this is not what this university's flagship sport should look like over the past decade. Zero reasons this team should not be one of 16 teams in the NCAAs every year. One NCAA win in the last 9 seasons. Once again UND fans will roll into Scheels this week for a regional only to watch four teams that doesn't include UND. Not to mention more empty seats in the Ralph nightly than I've seen in any year past plus the student section chanting "Fire Berry" on multiple nights.

I agree, I feel that we are generally fortunate to have Schloss cover our team. Does he maybe not ask the tough questions to maintain good relationships with the coaches and players, yeah, but I subscribe to the herald for the main reason of his writing

A lot of papers don't publish daily anymore. I think the Fargo Forum does the same thing.
