UND1983 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Surprised not one NSIC gave Feeney an offer or an offer with shot at starting job. Or we didn’t hear about it? Quote

I would be surprised if none of them reached out to him. I’m not surprised we didn’t hear about it if they did reach out. I hope he has a good year. 2 Quote

St John's can be more attractive than NSIC especially if you consider students at that level are playing for enjoyment and a free education. Yes, they don't offer athletic scholarships, but surprising how many of their top athletes quality for academic scholarships. SJU is top 10 NAIA every year. 1 Quote

UND1983 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 The way everyone loved him on SS I figured Feeney would go a bit higher than St Johns Quote

SiouxFan100 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Lots of factors go into where a player plays. For me personally, I don’t necessarily assume a player wants to play at the highest level he can. I don’t know about Feeney. Quote

I spent a year at St John's playing (sitting on bench) for Gagliardi way back in the day. You are correct in that they find a way to get their top athletes other scholarships since athletic scholarships are not allowed. Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I was told the academic scholarships were “Needs based” As in “ We need a running back” or “We need a quarterback “ 4 Quote

He ended up getting about 70-75% of his school paid for. Quote
