Bummer. Liked how hard he ran. Good luck to Hunt! Hope he finds a starting job somewhere

Definitely good enough to be a 1 or 2 guy at many schools.  Wish he would have stayed, but can't blame him for hitting the portal.  Great kick returner.

This one is a big loss. He averaged over 13 yds per carry, always ran hard, broke tackles. RB was probably our deepest position but he deserved more touches. I thought he would be one of our top 2 RB’s next fall. I see it as a red flag.

I am hearing the new coach is not happy with much of anything on this roster.  We have been conditioned to think we had a good enough roster.  Not the case

I think most on here have said that we haven’t had the talent level of the top teams. We won games when we played our best but there hasn’t been any margin for error. Any letdown at all and we lost games.

Hard to blame him. Consistently produced and was only given opportunities in mop up time really. Will still be hard to crack with Ziebarth and Seidl.

Any ideas who they’re after? Looks like Isaac is following quite a few recent QB portal entrants

I don't. But I don't believe they have interest in the SDSU transfer.
Probably fair to say the new HC has a good idea on whether he would be a good fit or not.

I am not doubting your statement, but wonder who you are hearing that from. It was clear we have roster needs, but anyone who watched film would be looking forward to a backfield with Seidel Ziebarth and Hunt next fall. Losing Hunt is a big loss.  The oline needs to keep improving but should be better next fall.  We have guys on this roster who can play but need to get stronger, continue to develop and be put in a position to succeed.

I guess we will see over the next few weeks if the new staff can maintain the enthusiasm and momentum created with the new hire.  Still waiting for the new staff to be announced and help upgrade the roster.

Who did you have him jumping in the RB room next fall?

This team lost to Indiana State. Not a single player that can’t be replaced

But according to our fans on here we have ALOT of solid building blocks!  No we don't.  We have some decent players and a lot of bad ones thanks to the prior staff's inability to bring the program up to date.

Isn't Ziebarth back next year?

Yes, my mistake. He and Seidel will be 1-2. Hunt would be in the mix but not critical loss however, I liked how hard he runs.

My mistake. Ziebarth and Seidel are both back.  I still like Hunt and thought he would be in the mix.

I really liked Colton Brunell's film out of high school. Want to see him get some touches. Also, really like the way Romfo runs. Then the kid out of Maple Grove runs a lot like Otis did. I think RB room is plenty fine.

Guessing QB is not an impressive position, along with WR group.  O-Line was as expected, above average.  RB's good.  TE group always a mystery.

D-Line probably seen as not good plus a big change with 4 man front.  I think we have some capable backers.  Corners pretty average.  Been lacking Safeties for years. All in all a small margin for error historically.

Agreed that there are places for improvement (significantly in some spots), but I would be interested to see how guys look after a year in a new S&C program along with a new staff with new ideas. How much of it was X's and O's and how much is Jimmy and Joes?

With a complete change in defensive scheme, there will definitely be a need to remake some parts of that side of the roster.
