I didn’t watch the game. Can someone explain the sequence of events that led to both the major penalty AND the goal being disallowed? I can’t quite wrap my head around how one thing led to another or were somehow related.

If the tables were turned, would we UND fans feel the same way as this guy? I don’t know, after reviewing the hit, it seemed like a legit penalty call to me, and it was made by CCHA officials so I give them credit for calling it.

Can be mad at the rule. Not sure how you argue the call

We have a guy up in the press box whose job is to look out for things to be challenged. Like a missed major penalty or offsides on a goal. He noticed it and called down to the bench to get berry to challenge the play for a major.

Gotcha. So the infraction must’ve happened uncalled, Mankato somehow gains possession of the puck and scores and then Berry challenges the missed call. Right on. Thanks!

I'd be mad at our player for using an elbow at the end of an unnecessary hit. Reminded me of Cooley losing the NC game for the Gophers, never give the refs a chance to influence the game.

Yeah i think the missed major happened about 1 minute before the goal was scored.

Expect an even more spirited purple cow performance tonight.

If UND isn’t ready it’ll get run out of the barn.

Satisfied or hungry.

 We shall see.

The major turned the game.

 That is all.

Don't know if I've ever seen a three-goal-swing on a call that was missed.

Yep, you’re absolutely right. UND would’ve challenged regardless, they just needed a stoppage of play to challenge the missed infraction, even if Mankato hadn’t have scored.

Agree it was definitely a head shot.

The Right call was absolutely mad, but I've be made as the penalty didn't contribute to the goal being scored.  Having a goal disallowed and receiving a 5 minute major totally turned the momentum.  If the Ref makes the call right away when it happens it wouldn't hurt MSUM as much.  With the Ref missing the Call, there is no other way to call it.

I laugh at the MSUM blaming the Ref for the game.  The Ref actually tried to help by missing the call, it was only after UND challenged the call that they had not choice, but to make the call.

Can't even imagine what the Michigan board looked like a couple of weeks ago when Minnesota State went into Yost and dumped the Wolverines.

I really hope we see Hobie tonight. I know TJ has more college experience and Berry has a thing about how they play in practice during the week but you can't keep sidelining your underclassmen goalies for 5th year players every year.

They also reset the clock to the time of the infraction. So the goal actually never happened.

Mankato 15 took a draw against Boisvert and the beginning of that shift - Boisvert took exception to 15 being a bit too frisky on the draw setup and pushed 15 back gently, glove to helmet.  They reset, puck was dropped, hit occurred, then a bit later #3 was ‘scored’.
