Western has been impressive, but other than Bump aren't loaded. The problem for UND is that they have lacked the consistency to go on a long run. Get home ice and a first round victory, and who knows if they will even have to face the team with the most talent in Denver. This weekend is the first step in keeping home ice alive. I'm trying to remain positive but at some point you are your record. True, they could go on a run at the end of league play, but that would be different than the inconsistent results seen throughout the entire season. Our longest winning streak is 4 games in December against Miami and St. Clown. (excluding the exhibition win against Manitoba) 1 Quote
cberkas Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I wouldn't have a problem if a bunch of players leave at the end of the season. Quote

What kind of bothers me is they hired Simpson (no coaching experience) when they could have hired St. Clair. I can't fault players going where they can win and are used correctly. I right now see more of the same next season. 2 Quote

hockeytherapy13 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Wouldn’t it be a bummer for Wilkie when RIT gets the auto bid from the AHA tournament while our boys are watching the NCAAs from the altitude chamber Quote
burd Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Look at the bright side. We can always win the conference tournament. And if we don’t, this is just one year. There are many more opportunities ahead. It’s kinda like world peace: you just gotta believe. 3 Quote

Wilbur Posted February 16 Posted February 16 They are doing the thing where they string me along now. If they sweep Duluth at home, one win at Western could put them on the cusp of an at large bid..... Yet, the sweeping Duluth at home part..... 1 Quote

If they could manage to string together a few games, they could get close. That darn inconsistency. Quote
Sioux>Bison Posted February 16 Posted February 16 What do we need to bring our pairwise ranking up to 14? Sweep Duluth and Omaha, then 1 of 2 from western Michigan? Or win all of them? Quote

ND_Texan Posted February 16 Posted February 16 The boys stepped it up with a key trio out last night. The key was their work in the net front. DU plays a low to high game and we were ready for it. Nice shot blocking and clearing their guys out. Also helps that TJ had a strong game, but the boys gave him a sight lane all night. Hopefully we can build on that. Quote

burd Posted February 16 Posted February 16 And it matters what our past opponents do as well, right. We want them to win? Quote

Currently Qpac is 14 and they are the highest ECAC team. Cut line could end up being 13 this year. Then there’s the threat of autobids. Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted February 16 Posted February 16 One good road win at Denver doesn't convince me a turn around has started. We all know how Jeckyl and Hyde this team is. 1 Quote

They need to get that 1883 Collective to get some funds rolling to get James to return for his SR year. 30 minutes ago, fightingsioux4life said: One good road win at Denver doesn't convince me a turn around has started.
