New commenter, but longtime follower. I have to say it. Look at the first few games. There was a different vibe for all of the players. They were having fun and looking good. Around that time, there were some “changes” made and the position coach’s demeanors changed. I don’t know exactly what this was, but know of a few things. This came from the top. I saw an immediate shift in the team. Taking all of the confidence and fun out of it for people that have worked their entire lives for this is very upsetting and mentally draining. Bubba just ain’t it. Freuchte is good, but his hands are tied in some cases. (Usually the bad calls.) Nothing to say, positively, about the DC.

And, yes, the napping happens frequently.

Please expand on these comments.  Not doubting you, just wanting to know a little more.

Was scrolling through Kelly's Twitter account and saw this.  Hoping this isn't legit.

This is truly mind blowing if this is legit!  While I knew he needed to go....I would have never guessed this. This needs to be posted weekly if it's true.... until he retires. I at least respected Bubba...but seeing this I am losing that.

Hoping someone here can elaborate on what these changes were.

Apparently it has been going on for some time per other posters on this forum.

A picture tells a thousand words....more like ten thousand words in this case.

Not surprising. This theme was evident last year when Freund left, and most in the know started to lose respect at that time. It’s now just growing further …

The problem with the pic is the one taking the pic is either a player or someone on the staff unless I’m wrong about who gets in the room.

Thats sad that they would publish it to social media.

The pic, if it’s an isolated incident, is not good, but if, as alleged, happens frequently, then it’s an issue.

The crumble and decay starts in every situation when the one at the top gives less accountability than he/she ask from those below. It's not complicated.

Speaking of Crumbl.....the pumpkin cake this week was gas as the kids would say.

Phase 2 needs a nap room like REA.

Yep, and UND football just as well go back to division II, or openly opt out of the playoffs every year…

No use competing and expecting championships for our alumni, fans, and student-athletes, right?

Sad thing is the AD won’t address this, the herald won’t address this.

puts other coaches in a bad spot

players will not say anything and shouldn’t

And according to some people on this forum, we shouldn't say anything either. :silly:

I agree that it should have been given the Chaves or Armicoste and no one else.   Bad publicity for the program.

You’re right. It won’t be addressed, which is why a player or staff is posting pictures of the head coach sleeping during meetings. (Much like him chewing on his fingernails on the sideline during the game.) They don’t know what else they can do at this point.
The players/staff love to play here and are not taking these things lightly. They all work too hard for this and deserve better.
There is no longer a respect/drive to please him, just like he has no respect/drive to lead. Clearly.

People get worried about guys hitting the portal. Just think of it like a forest fire. The ground is more fertile afterward and allows for better growth to follow.

I see what you are saying, but respectfully disagree to some extent.

If recruits see a grassfire and the issues like we are having now, we may not get the caliber of recruits we would like. Let’s say they have offers from UND and a team equivalent but see a larger number than normal of transfers out of UND, chances are they ain’t coming. It also takes away the chance for teammates to really gel when there is a lot of turnover. We may snag one or two diamonds in the rough, but that’s always questionable.
