What happens if we lose tomorrow and DU wins? Then we’re tied and share the league title? UND has the head-to-head It was 4-point lead heading into this game. The 2 OT points gave UND 6 points Quote

Wilbur Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 If Denver wins and we lose tomorrow its a shared league title. We DON'T have the tiebreaker for playoff seeding.... Quote
brianvf Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 What about Driscoll's two amazing saves in OT? I thought both were going in. Amazing! Quote

I think the seeding tiebreaker would go to Denver, unfortunately. First tiebreaker doesn't count because there wasn't equal games played home/away. Second tiebreaker is regulation wins. If DU wins out, and we lose tomorrow, DU will have more regulation wins and would be the #1 seed. 1 Quote

rochsioux Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 The 5 min major in the third is a complete joke. They reviewed that and made it a 5 ? WTF were they watching ??? 1 Quote
Fighting Sioux 23 Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 From the NCHC Website: TIE BREAKERS Seeding of teams for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the final NCHC standings at the end of the regular season. If two or more teams are tied for the regular-season championship, they shall be considered co-champions and both will receive a Penrose Cup. Positions for the NCHC Tournament are determined according to the following procedure. Three-on-three overtime and shootout results (other than the accumulation of points as a result of shootouts) will not be used to help break ties for NCHC Tournament seeding. 1. If two or more teams are tied in the standings and all teams have played a balanced scheduled against one another (equal number of home and away games between all teams tied), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the team with the best NCHC regular-season regulation winning percentage among the games played against the other teams tied in the standings. If any of the teams tied have played an unbalanced schedule against any other team tied this criterion will not be used and the following criteria will apply; 2. If not determined by (1), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the greater number of NCHC regulation wins; 3. If not determined by (1) or (2), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be the team with the best NCHC regular-season regulation winning percentage among the games played against the other teams tied in the standings, regardless of the schedule being balanced among the teams tied; 4. If not determined by (1) or (2) or (3), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by comparison of total goals for and against each team in regulation in contests between (among) the other teams tied in the standings in NCHC regular-season play; 5. If not determined by (1) or (2) or (3) or (4), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by comparison of the regulation winning percentages of the teams tied in the standings against the remaining highest ranked NCHC teams, successively, until the determination is accomplished or all NCHC regular-season contests have been considered; 6. If not determined by (1) or (2) or (2) or (4) or (5), the seeding for the NCHC Tournament shall be determined by the flip of a coin. Quote
SiouxScore Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Not exactly how you would have drawn up the finish but got the job done. Little too much on our heels in the 3rd. Quote
rochsioux Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 On a side note, has UND ever had a goalie that loses his stick as often as Driscoll ? Seems to happen at least once in every game. Quote

JaDubbs Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Shoot, I thought UND had a 4pt lead in the conference pts, I guess not Quote
scpa0305 Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 So I just read on Twitter our celebration was premature? How do you screw that up Quote
