Short-sighted decision, if true. A public statement would have sufficed. Then again. it's not like Rydell needs the additional exposure of buying ad time/space at REA. Their brand is ubiquitous. Next car dealer up. Maybe Corwin or Luther wants some market penetration in GF? 1 1

Now you're just making things up to get angry about. First thing first, let's let the rumor be confirmed, and then let's have the ad market dry up, and then you can fret. 1

nodak651 Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 The Ralph keeps 70% of ad rev anyways. Not much trickle down to begin with.

AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Sounds much like when the team was changing names how the sky was falling for the athletic department. Auto sales are down big time now that people are working from home, its not like Rydell is in a recession proof industry. If it's true sponsors pull money and explicitly state this is why, make sure to mention them here so people can make informed decisions with their discretionary spending.

This statement is not even accurate. Auto sales have been surprisingly strong during Covid and margins on trucks and other large vehicles have been as good as they have ever been. If they pulled advertising it wasn’t cause of dollars. 2
Kab Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 If it’s true good for rydell would make me more inclined to buy from them. be it it BLM or me2 or any other woke group too many are afraid to express their feelings against these groups.’ you cans have congressional black caucus, miss black America,or miss native America but all hell would break lose if you put white in front of any of those 1 4 2

Only because of low interest rates, which is where margins are made. The outlook for the industry is not good.

It may be a bit of a bubble that will ultimately pop, but for now, it doesn't matter what the offers are, it's hard to keep inventory in stock. This isn't the same story in other parts of the country, but around the Valley, life's good in the car industry. The factory offers are very strong, so if you're interested in a car, it's a great time to buy a new vehicle right now. Pre-owned car demand is also incredibly high with low inventory, so prices are a little higher than normal, but trade values also are as well which helps counter that. 4
gfhockey Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I don’t think the rydell group cares about Money or a down fall. They are a cash funded organization

Fair enough, I'm not in the industry, just basing it off blurbs I've read. Trucks selling makes sense as people move to resort towns and DIY home improvement soars.
Sioux>Bison Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 Biggest loser from this kneeling???? The football program, they can’t afford to take a hit from donors. What productive things has this kneeling by two white boys done so far? Nothing but piss people off, and now oppressed the rest of the athletic department.... 2 2

If you're concerned about the fiscal health of UND Athletics, you'd better direct your energy elsewhere: like Biden, Burgum, Armacost, Fauci, NCAA. If the fan lockout continues much longer, Rydell's sponsorships are chump change between the sofa cushions.
