You can blame liberal governors all you want, not since the 1960s has this country been in such disarray. Since then we've had both liberal or republican leadership. How can you blame lawlessness in Blue States on the president? Mayor Wheeler just turned down federal help. Again. Dan Rather is a moron. 1

There would have been no violence if the antifa would give them some space They're not protesters, they're thugs just like Antifa.....especially as it pertains to Portland. My point is, if Trump was truly interested in law and order, he'd hold everybody accountable that's causing this mess and/or adding to it. Obviously, despite the rhetoric, the Right has no interest in doing as such. The 'law and order' shtick is just a political tool.

Can you imagine if they start sending folks to jail for 10-20 years. Some of this lawlessness will slow down.
UNDlaw80 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 The main problem with Trump as it pertains to the issue of violence is he (more than any recent president) preys on existing divisions. His divisiveness seeps into everything. He subtly incites violence, then counters with 'law and order' platform. It's a good political tactic, but awful for the country. Case in point: Everybody knows sending the Feds into cities was a huge contentious issue at a volatile time. Yet Trump chose to threaten some left wing cities with federal action despite little or no violence occurring in these cities. Basic trolling aimed at causing more division and potential protest. Never has Trump stood up in front of the country and made an attempt at national unity. Not once. It's not in his interest. The President sets the tone. He sets the standard. Unfortunately Trump is a reality TV show President. His unprofessional and divisive mentality seeps into everything below it and everyone follows suit to keep up (both Rep and Dem). Unlike ever before this country has no middle ground and both sides just spew vitriol at eachother. And here we sit with a circus government, cities dealing with violence, employment sky-high, Covid everywhere, the economy in the toilet, bread lines, and citizens and politicians at eachother's throats like never before, etc. Trump's America folks. Is America great again yet? 2

Is there a rule that only lefties can protest peacefully in Portland or Seattle? I am just asking. Why yes, of course there is a rule against anybody other than "lefties" protesting there. But, of course. Now, hide. Antifa is on their way! Posting from one of my many accounts here. ;o)
Goon Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 Well this is interesting. Maybe there should be more stories like this.

The electoral college is here to stay because good luck getting 2/3 of the states to change it. Small states will never give away that power as it is why many states decided to join the union. The electoral college ultimately came to be because of slavery, slave states not willing to join unless there was a compromise on slaves counted toward representation.

James Madison from Virginia—where slaves accounted for 60 percent of the population—knew that either a direct presidential election, or one with electors divvied up according to free white residents only, wouldn’t fly in the South." Those slaves, considered and later codified as property by the Dred Scott decision, counted each as 3/5 a person towards representation in the US House of Representatives. Even though they had no prayer of voting. And again were considered property. So, those southern states would gain more representation in the US House. In turn, in order to tilt the scale toward the south again in presidential elections, the states were give two electoral votes for their US Senators and one electoral vote for each member of the US House of Representatives. its indisputable. Unless you're really freaking stupid or insane. 2
