It would have happened after the 2016 election, but what exactly I'm not sure. That's the question that decides the course of humanity at this point. Hadn't logged on to Facebook in years until recently for a story about homelessness in Santa Monica linked to a Facebook page documenting it, and the first thing I saw was the page was actually based in the Philippines or another SE Asian country. Labelling where the group is based is a good start, but I'm not sure when that started. Hopefully the moment it was discovered so many patriot/BLM/Antifa groups were foreign disinformation. "This is a classic example of the right-wing media machine," Stelter said. "Fox and Trump have this in common: They want you to stay mad and stay tuned." The story is a "manufactured scandal," Stelter said, meant to feed "whataboutism" -- an opportunity for the right-wing media to shift the conversation from Trump's record to Biden's. "The strategy is to deflect attention, to attack the opponent, and the same propaganda pipeline is there all the time," said Yochai Benkler, a professor at Harvard Law School told Stelter on "Reliable Sources" Sunday. Benkler noted that when Hillary Clinton's emails, and the FBI investigation into her handling of classified information that ultimately recommended no charges, and the Clinton foundation became the subject of right-wing media talking points, serious journalists dug into her emails. "I think, this time, unlike what we saw with Clinton, where serious journalists fell for the Bannon-produced Clinton Foundation nonsense trivially, where serious journalists dug into the e-mails, and Gallup shows us, the only thing people thought about when they thought about Clinton was e-mails and foundation," Benkler said. Right-wing media is trying for the same strategy again as Election Day grows closer. But unlike previous "closing argument" stories, the media world has largely ignored the Post's Hunter Biden story. "They're so confident that the story's just going to be too much fun for serious journalists not to pick up," Benkler said. "They're trying to produce it now, but the media at the moment -- major professional media -- doesn't seem to be falling for it." That might be because the details of the story have been denied by a credible former Joe Biden staffer and the Biden campaign, and US authorities are investigating whether the emails are part of an ongoing Russian disinformation effort. Hayduke1
People trying to.pass themselves off as health care professionals and spread misinformation should not only be blocked on social media platforms, but should be subject to potential malpractice lawsuits. https://apnews.com/article/virus-outbreak-donald-trump-health-us-news-b57a7b140a5c39af3f7f526e6de60953 NEW YORK (AP) — Twitter blocked a post Sunday from an adviser to President Donald Trump who suggested that masks do not work to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Scott Atlas, who joined the White House in August as a science adviser, had tweeted “Masks work? NO,” and said widespread use of masks is not supported. The tweet violated a Twitter policy that prohibits sharing false or misleading misinformation about COVID-19 that could lead to harm, a company spokesperson said. The policy bans statements that have been confirmed to be false or misleading by experts such as public health authorities.

UNDlaw80
Sen. Ron Johnson (from my home state) is now insinuating that child porn is on Hunter’s laptop. As if the original story wasn't fishy enough. Man alive, the Trumpsters are sparing no expense no matter how outrageous it gets. Reeks of classic GRU activity. From 4 years ago: Foes of Russia Say Child Pornography Is Planted to Ruin Them https://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/09/world/europe/vladimir-putin-russia-fake-news-hacking-cybersecurity.html So this begs the question. How the hell would Ron Johnson know what's on this supposed 'laptop'? Oh wait, here he is with Andriy Telizhenko, one of Giuliani's shady pro-Kremlin Ukrainian contacts.
