MNHawk Posted December 9 Posted December 9 This guy followed Schmidt from Washington to SDSU and is from Michigan. Wonder if he has any interest in coming back to the Midwest. https://goaztecs.com/sports/football/roster/season/2024/staff/cj-mcgorisk 1 Quote
SiouxFan100 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 Lots of decisions to make in a short period of time. Lots of effects to coaches and families and players Quote

IMO too much of the same old same old. Agreed. There is nothing exciting for me on this hire. Hope he succeeds but I see no culture change. Eric brings toughness and intenseness thats needed in the football world…..but eh. Such a typical und hire. Blah. Eric will be reunited to the constant Joel, Shawn, Travis and Carl. Will he retain any of the coaches (buddies) that have high contributions to a yearly average 6.0 W -5.1 L team? 54%. This program needs a complete overhaul. Time to start with a blank canvas. 1 Quote

From ND This...^^^ Was a DC for a few years at the top level of PHX HS FB before for going to SDSU The issue relocation wise could be...PHX >>> SD >>> GF (I'm partial to the valley of the sun) Let me go the Bueller 31 Flavors on this one. Think I might be able to get intel by day's end. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted December 9 Posted December 9 The 360 TwiX post of Schmidt in the U Dub hoodie will carry weight in this area recruiting. Coached at a big time program with a big time coach (#wedidntwanthim) in a FBS natty championship game. Great hire IMO. @AJS this hire for the UND fan base brings some much needed juice to the program to revive some interest going into 2025. 2 things needed....better players/talent at skilled positions and defensively across the board and coaching decisions that pass the eyeball test personal wise, schematic wise and game management wise. 3 Quote
Popular Post Oxbow6 Posted December 9 Popular Post Posted December 9 To @Cratter @Shawn-O @gfhockey and others who brought levity to this process the past few days....well done. Fun to read. Chavez...thoro...tail numbaz... I know a number of these posters personally. Great guys who get it and don't take themselves too seriously but want UND FB to be great again. Some here frankly need to lighten up. Goodness. Please for the sake of others don't show up at Christmas parties. Better days for UND FB are on the horizon....hopefully. 2 10 Quote

This is one thing I am hoping will be the big change is the personality of an aggressive ex player that showed that kind of emotion. Who knows if it will work out, but I'm willing to give the guy a chance to show what he can do. It's just disappointing that we aren't a few years into a new regime, as now we still have to wait until the new coach gets his recruits in place, although hopefully the portal can push that forward a bit, especially this year. Hopefully he has some guys in mind from his time at the other places. Quote

You don't have to look beyond Stig at SDSU (26 years) and Nielson (9) at USD to see coaches with longer tenures having big success at the FCS level. 1 Quote

Living in this Echo Chamber it would be easy to assume that. I've been out among other groups. Word on the street I hear is our facilities are top notch, our focus on kids getting an education is right on, our support is good, for big games great, our coaching staff is respected. Quote
