There were quite a few UND fans in attendance.  They announced each player one-by-one and played a video of a few goals and the end of the championship game then Berry went up to the plate to throw the first pitch. The Twins should have signed him right then and there to pitch because Hughes went on to give up three runs in the first inning and that's all it took to lose the game.

Was there any audible booing from the Gopher cry babies?

So if all the players wore North Dakota Jerseys, I count 14...the rest of the guys are in AHL playoffs or unable to make it?

The Twins should've left in the big righty that threw out the first pitch. Couldn't have done much worse ...

Plus you know the guy's a winner. :)

Stat of the day:

Mauer has 2 HRs since his last double. (5/1)

He only has 3 extra base hits in the month of May so far.

How is that even possible? That's 22 games with 3 extra base hits.

having him lead off really worked out well.   It's time to send the entire team to Rochester.  Or Siberia.

I'm so confused - the Twins won yesterday!

The series against KC, they scored 4, 4, and 7 runs.  That should be enough scoring to win at least 2 out of 3 if your pitching and defense are even remotely competent (by MLB standards).

You are exactly right.

Even the pitching coach can't take it anymore- I see he got arrested for suspicion of DWI.

Watching them makes me consider drinking (and sometimes I am ;) ) - I can only imagine what it must be like to have a level of responsibility tied to their performance.

That said; Don't drink and drive.  I don't care if you are associated with the Twins pitching!

Joe Mauer is to the Twins what Derek Jeter was to the Yankees, Ozzie Smith was to the Cardinals, and Mike Schmidt was to the Phillies.

Minus the championships those collective folks won, of course.

Not to mention the leadership, personality, consistent production, etc., etc, etc....

After their ass kicking by the Red Sox today 15-4 the Twins are now 25 games under .500 at 18-43. This team will easily surpass 100 losses for the year. Twins need to go 45-56 the rest of the way to avoid the century mark. I don't see that happening.

It  boggles the mind with his size (6ft 5in, 235 lbs).  He couldn't pull the ball if you threatened him.  Are you serious, 3 extra base hits in the month of May up to 25 May (he did recently go on a hr "tear" to get that total up to 7 or so)?  Wow.   He has absolutely no upper cut in his swing and yet strikes out a good bit for a guy hitting in the .280s (yah, hitting has improved a bit from last season at least) with little power.
