Fetch Posted September 29, 2015 Author Posted September 29, 2015 Got to admit it has been fun even if we don't make playoffs - I have watched more MLB this yr & like this team Quote
Sodacker Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 It's a crime against the game that Barry Zito gets trotted out against a team in a playoff race. Quote
sioux rube Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 If the Twins are to have any shot at this, they need to go 5-2 the rest of the way.2-0 so far after destroying the Indians in game 1 of a double dip today. Pelfrey starts tonight. He wasn't bad his last start. Need that again. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Pelf get rocked. Cleveland takes the night cap.But angels lost and Astros are losing. And get rid of Nolasco! Trade him for a bag of balls Quote
Oxbow6 Posted October 1, 2015 Posted October 1, 2015 Twins 1.5 game out of the 2nd WC. In all honesty the fact this team is 6 games over .500 and has a sniff at the playoffs is amazing. I had them closing in on a 100 "L"s at this stage. Quote

cpa_guy Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 What happens the other 6%?It's allotted to the Texas Rangers in case the Angels overtake them this weekend. 1 Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Duff man did enough. 2 in the 9th and the twins are 1 back. Quote
sioux rube Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Duffey has turned into a really nice pitcher. Man after his first start against the Jays I did not see this coming. His curve ball is filthy. I thought after Mauer hit into yet another double play in the top of the 8th with a chance to put the team ahead, it was over. It wasn't and Jepson gets yet another save. Quote
cpa_guy Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 Let's hope the Diamondbacks play spoilers this weekend:Houston (84-75, 74.4% by Fangraphs) @ Arizona - the Diamondbacks have nothing to play for, but have won their last four and are 7-3 in their last ten.LA Angels (83-76, 16.1%) @ Texas - the Rangers have won the division, and therefore have nothing to play forTwins (83-76, 9.5%) @ home vs. Kansas City - unfortunately, the Royals are still playing for home field advantageBased on opposition, the Twins have by far the toughest road to the second wild card. But there is some optimism in that the Twins are 46-32 at home and the Astros and Angels are (31-47) and (34-44) respectively on the road. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted October 2, 2015 Posted October 2, 2015 (edited) What happens the other 6%?ESPN math. (I wondered the same. My guess: NYY hadn't secured first WC yet so they were part of it, then TEX, CLE et al.) Edited October 2, 2015 by The Sicatoka Quote

siouxforcefans Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Going to miss Mr. Hunter, but glad I got to see him play as a Twin again before he left the game! Quote
jdub27 Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Kudos to Hunter for not dragging out his decision or putting the Twins in a position to have to make a choice. Don't agree with a lot of his off the field/clubhouse stuff, but his on the field performance speaks for itself (last few years notwithstanding). He always to watch patrol center field in the Metrodome. Quote
