Mariucci Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Dude..... you said they were 19th heading into the weekend of the conference tourneys.... FALSE. They were only ranked 19th because they won their conference tourney to get the auto-bid. They were not ranked in the top 20 any time before March 20th so they could have very well been ranked 54th in the pairwise though I don't know how you'd look that up. It was the first time a fifteen or sixteen seed beat a number one or two seed, since the field was expanded to sixteen teams. The point is that game is still considered by many to be the biggest upset in college hockey history. Arguing otherwise is just ignorance.... Excuse me for saying they were 19th ONE WEEK prior than they actually were. Seriously? Bottom line is that you said they were 54th when in fact they were 35 spots higher. Quote
Siouxman Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Umm sorry but you're waaaay off. I believe Holy Cross was 19 in the pairwise when the brackets were laid out. Also I think the Gophs were #2 overall behind Bucky. Bemidji State was actually about 28th in the pairwise. It was a big win because it hadn't happened before but now it would just draw a yawn. Quote

Dave Berger Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 The University of Minnesota has 21 Minnesotans on their current roster. The other four are from Colorado (Tom Serratore), Florida (Gabe Guertler), Missouri (Sam Warning), and Wisconsin (captain Nate Condon). The University of North Dakota has 3 North Dakotans on their current roster. Luke Johnson and Paul LaDue are from Grand Forks, and Keaton Thompson is from Devils Lake.
