geaux_sioux Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I don't think kowalski is coming back either How solid do you feel on this? Quote
ericpnelson Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 when is the announcement for Eric Schmidt going to be? Seems odd to announce Rudolph first, you'd think Schmidt would have been more automatic. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 pretty solid So we've got Chris Brown and......... Maybe just Chris Brown? Assuming he stays. Quote

Nodak78 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 when is the announcement for Eric Schmidt going to be? Seems odd to announce Rudolph first, you'd think Schmidt would have been more automatic. Hopefully today. I wonder if Dale might be offering him the DC to keep him there. Dale has lost 3 coaches and Eric would be the fourth. Quote
Westside Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Didn't Dan Konowalski have some academic issues & was held out of spring ball or fall camp this past year? I believe I saw that posted on here.... Quote

BigGame Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 when is the announcement for Eric Schmidt going to be? Seems odd to announce Rudolph first, you'd think Schmidt would have been more automatic. Since Rudolph was already in the State higher education system, it might have been faster to get him cleared. Quote

geaux_sioux Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I'm guessing Dale is offering him quite a bit to keep him on board. For a year. Quote
Siouxperfan7 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 For a year. Exactly. Dale's days are numbered. To Schmidt, the UND gig would be more attractive and stable. Quote
siouxfantastic Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 As Tom Miller pointed out: Just wondering what people realistically are expecting from next year's defense? With Schmidt coming into the fold, that makes our last 3 DC's former players of Bubba. We know it will be a 3-4, and I can't imagine there will be much change in scheme, if at all will there? What will make the defense more effective under Schmidt than it was under Kotelnicki? Why did the defense regress so much from 2011 to 2012 under Mannausau? Discuss.............. Need players. Didn't have the talent. Quote
Westside Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Tom Miller @tommillergf 1m UND makes Eric Schmidt hire offical Schmidt it is... Quote
Westside Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 NorthDakota Football @UNDfootball 2m A day after naming his OC, head coach Bubba Schweigert names Eric Schmidt his defensive coordinator - release to follow #BigSkyFB Quote

homer Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Congrats to Schmidty. Hopefully we can fill the remaining staff quickly, evaluate the needs for next season and finish recruiting strong before getting into spring. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Let's get some position coaches. Is it a faster process to get them inked? Quote
UNDBIZ Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I almost feel bad for Lennon at this point. His entire staff is getting gutted. OC DC QBs LBs Quote
UND92,96 Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Tom Miller @tommillergf 13m Just got off phone with Eric Schmidt. Hopes to be in GF on Sun. Said "More than anything else, I saw a chance to make a difference." 2 Quote
siouxweet Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I almost feel bad for Lennon at this point. His entire staff is getting gutted. OC DC QBs LBs so let's see here, SIU is a program that has been nothing of late and yet UND raids their coaching staff and thinks it will lead them to the promised land. way to go Mr. AD. for a program that seriouslyt needed to cut ties with former players and coaches for its current staff this is brilliant I say, just brilliant...not. My hope is that Bubba and company will be recruiting a slightly different footprint with ND/Minn/Wisc while keeping a presence in Illinois. SIU's roster consists of 0/1/3 players respectively from those first three states. Quote

I don't see the logic either - I appreciate that the coaches are fired up and want to make a difference - Can anyone answer why they couldn't make a difference in Carbondale and what they will do different here? Is there something I'm missing or is this just Magical Thinking? Quote
