Not advocating for Berg of course, but the NFL and DI experience criteria are "Preferred Qualifications".

The minimum requirement is Head Coaching or Coordinator experience at a DII or DIII school.

That makes the potential pool of candidates much broader than what we are all focusing in on....................

Typically is the case with any "job" posting...but 90-95% of those apps get tossed. Same applies here IMO.

A good AD always keeps an updated list of potential candidates for every job. You don't just start looking for potential replacements when you think you might fire somebody. What if Hakstol were to jump to an NHL job? I'm guessing Faison has a list of guys he'd call tomorrow if Hakstol were to be gone.

The minimums are usually added in case you don't the right quality candidates. Clearly should not be a problem in this case.
