siouxfan512 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Honestly, WTH?... ... I know, right? Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted November 20, 2013 Author Posted November 20, 2013 Well Vegas was basically correct. Point spread was 19 and we lost by 18. There's no question this team can score but they have front court defensive issues. NDSU's Bjorkland could be a really tough matchup. Might have to try just outscore NDSU by forcing turnovers defensively. Quote
NODAK13 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Yes we did beat the spread. Should have bet my house on it. Quote
siouxfan512 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 To keep that game under 20 against a program like that, on a night the Kaminsky plays like that ... Pretty Impressive Quote
UND Fan Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Disappointed with an 18 point loss but, if Kaminsky didn't have an unbelievable night, it likely would have been about a 10 point game. We played pretty well as a whole especially considering UW is a top 20 team, we were playing in their barn and it was their 4th game compared to our second. Quote
Teeder11 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Brekke would have been helpful, too. Oh well. Quote
southpaw Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Lots of positives when we go into Big Sky play. Fortunately, we won't be seeing a lot of 7 footers who can drain the 3 almost as well as he can score inside. Going to be an exciting game Sunday! Quote
NewUNDAlum Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Good effort by UND tonight. Honestly, it could have been a lot worse. I know 18 is a pretty hefty beat down, but on the flip side Wisco will be doing that to a lot of teams this year. If you would have told me before the game that one of their guys would go off for 41 I would have said that we lose by 30. All in all, its somethings to build on as we showed some talent. Definitely enough to compete at a high level in the Big Sky. gfhockey, you are a loser 3 Quote
homer Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Sunday night will be a barometer. Need to keep improving inside. Bjorkland will as good of a post player as we'll see in the Big Sky. I was impressed with Nash, he'll be a tough match up for conference teams. Looking for the team to take a big jump from games 2 to 3 Quote
UNDColorado Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I am happy they kept it under 20 to the #15 team. Now on to ndsu! Quote
smokey the cat Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Beat the spread!!!!!!!! That did not cost Vegas that much. There would have been little action on the game. All you see at the books on Tuesdays are the horse players. Quote
Dagger Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 To keep that game under 20 against a program like that, on a night the Kaminsky plays like that ... Pretty Impressive I second that. I can't wait for the rest of the season.!!!!!!!!! Quote
WeAreNorthDakota Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Athletically I don't think there are many teams on our schedule who will be able to match up with Huff and Nash. Anderson looked a lot more under control offensively and if he is able to step up to a 1st team big sky type player we are going to be tough to beat. Just have to hope our 5 spot doesn't start to cost us games. Quote
siouxfan512 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 A little disappointed with guys like Schuler and Antwii. We'll need them to step up and make some more plays throughout the year if we're going to beat some of the better teams, or if there are injuryies. Hopefully Brekke can get back .... anyone know his status (I haven't followed it closely)? Could still try to get that signature win this year, with Oregon and Butler on the schedule ... Not likely, certainly possible! Quote
Sioux04 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Seriously, what fantasy land was Salmonson in with his 3-pointers? Overall, a very impressive effort considering Wisconsin shot over 60% for the game. The Huff and Nash combo has got to be as good as it gets in the Big Sky. This team definitely has all the ingredients to be dancin' in March. 1 Quote

Not likely, certainly possible! Schuler was not in a position to do well in this game. He was stuck against some guys a lot bigger than him due to only Nash playing well down low. When we're able to match him up against guys his size he will be a lot more successful. Quote
MafiaMan Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 ....didn't think we were this bad. Seriously? It's every effing thread - regardless of the sport! 4 Quote

True, kind of the story for a lot of this game, we were just out sized. Although, it is incredible to watch Anderson play so well despite always being the smallest guy on the court. Regardless, tonight showed a ton of promise, and if we can carry that into our Big Sky schedule, this team could go a long way. Should be a very fun season! Quote
Blackheart Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Was a little surprised how well UND penetrated off the dribble...lotsa second half buckets in the paint. Quote

SWSiouxMN Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Badger board quite commentary of our team. Got a laugh when Huff got called Marshall Henderson's evil twin Quote
