Best single recruiting day in UND history. Impressive, impressive day.

Didn't Hrkac and Joyce commit on the same day too?

;)

Quote

In one of the biggest recruiting swings in college hockey in recent memory, the University of North Dakota received verbal commitments from bluechip prospects and future first-round NHL Draft picks Cole Reschny and Keaton Verhoeff, according to multiple reports including from Grand Forks Herald reporter Brad Schlossman, who was first with the Reschny news.

Quote

Several high-profile CHL players have made verbal commitments, including a number of already-drafted and soon-to-be drafted players, but Reschny and Verhoeff represent two of the highest-ranked players to make the commitment to an NCAA program.

The fact that they’re both coming from the same WHL team and committing to the same school at the same time is also notable.

These kids must be turning down those seven figure NIL offers from B1G schools. (sarcasm) :silly:

Beating out Boston College for Reschny and Michigan for Verhoeff (assuming others like Denver may have been kicking tires too) is insanely impressive by Chyzyk & Jackson. But they leveraged connections and geographical advantage to get 2 blue chippers, which is what North Dakota should always do (even more now): Reschny is from Macklin, Saskatchewan and Verhoeff is from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, it's very possible that North Dakota was one of the very few NCAA programs they were familiar with growing up. Nice to see the staff aggressively go after guys we all wanted them to go after instead of the laissez faire approach from Berry

I just couldn't resist considering all the Doomsday talk around here regarding recruiting and what the future looks like for our program.

Not sure anyone cares at this point :D

Need guys that grow and stay 4 years too though. Don’t want too many one or two years and done, or we might end up without the hardware like other blue bloods. Is nice to have our name in the conversation with elite players though.  We needed that just to reestablish the North Dakota brand.  The next step is proving it on the ice though, getting back to our work ethic.
