AJS
Croal starting to heat up. 1st star tonight, 6 pts in his last 3 games. 18 pts in 21 games on the year.
jk
There's been some concern here about the future, but if Perron and Swanson come as advertised and join Blake, this could be one fancy-ass team in a couple years. Blake is absolutely slick enough to be a pro, but he needs to get a lot stronger, so hopefully he's still here.
siouxforce19
Just now, jk said: There's been some concern here about the future, but if Perron and Swanson come as advertised and join Blake, this could be one fancy-ass team in a couple years. I haven’t really been concerned about a couple years down the road, more concerned about the immediate future with incoming forwards for next year. But the Emerson commitment yesterday really helps for next year.

If Gaber stays, that'd be a great forward group to build off of with Blake/OwenMc/James.

I'm sure that he'll get some interest from some pro teams after the season is over, but it certainly couldn't hurt him to develop another season in college. Especially as a smaller player. Gersich has played in the NHL... Kawaguchi hasnt.... there's reasons and opportunities in some odd places sometimes. Gaber is well positioned to be able to find a most favorable fit. He may have more of a chance to play in the National than the 3rd rounders in the program. But I don't disagree with your premise... he seems to be at present an AHL player... but some decent money there and in Europe.. who knows. brianvf
Quote The World Junior A Challenge will begin today in Cornwall, Ont. The U.S. squad has three UND recruits participating — forward Mac Swanson of the Fargo Force, defenseman Jake Livanavage of the Chicago Steel and defenseman Andrew Strathmann of the Youngstown Phantoms. Swanson is the only 2006-born player on the U.S. roster. Livanavage and Strathmann are expected to come to UND next season.

For example, if it's true that Blake is at a -7 . . . . He's been great this year and is exciting to watch, but the team is badly in need of better D. Love Riese and he's an incredible talent, but he's gonna have to really battle to get to the NHL anywhere near consistently. He definitely could, and should stay at least one more year. Scoring goals isn’t an issue. Defense and goaltending is the main issue. I’d say overall team defense. Forwards still need to back check.

scpa0305
This wjac usa team is stacked…wow they are good. Curious how they’d do in the world juniors. Strathmann and Livanavage look solid, so does Swanson. Sam Rinzel looks to be very very good.
jk
Well, Rinzel was a first round pick last year. Things are so good for Motzko that he can send a first rounder to play his D+1 year in the USHL without losing him.

Strathmann, who plays for the Youngstown Phantoms, had a goal for the Americans. Both Livanavage and Strathmann have signed their National Letters of Intent. They're both eligible for the NHL Draft this summer. Swanson, the youngest player on Team USA's roster, also had an excellent tournament.
