I knew someone would bring up number of games played as "proof" that leaving after one year didn't hurt Jost.

Quality is just as important as quantity. I think he would have been with the Avalanche for years as a fixture in their lineup if he had one more year of seasoning and development at North Dakota.

I agree. He’s a bottom six player. Had he stayed for another year of development, he’d be a top six player through those 500 games..

Jost and Smith weren't even close talent wise while at UND yet there they both are. One surpassed his college skill set in the NHL.

Love seeing Johnny Toews back on the sheet. A lot of folks had him pegged as a 4th line center / depth add for Winnipeg Not so much. He’s currently centering Jets 2nd line, on the PP and dominating faceoffs . He looks real good.

Toews is an intense guy with a lot of pride who knows what it takes to succeed in the NHL.  I doubt he would have come back if there was much doubt in his mind that he can still contribute.
