I am shocked that Fruechte has no qualms about running against a stacked line with the same play two times in a row to get one yard on fourth down plays, but won’t run once at the two yard line on 4 plays.  Bizarre!

Possibly.  But UND hasn’t shown the ability to win the big games.  They have two wins over .500 clubs. The rest of their wins are not impressive in measure.  With a combination of bad offensive play calling all year, bad special teams play and the way Jerry has failed in the potential game winning drives spells not a top 25 team.  The red zone offense has been bad as they rank 75 out of 124 teams. Can’t trust a kicker. Kickoff and kickoff return groups are shaky.  2-3 record on road trips is not top 25 material . Now Jerry has thrown 5 INTs in the last two games. Too many offsets to be considered a top 25 team.  The defense is playing like a top 25 team …that’s about it.

But haven’t we heard in the past so many times about good losses from the committee?

Well then you and every other pollster, or normal headed FCS fan disagree, we are a top 25 team. The good wins we had against good teams, we kicked their ass so we didnt need a big 4th quarter comeback.

I have love/hate with Fruechte.  I think he is quite good at times. But cant help call him out on that first and goal and pathetic 4th down repeat call at mid field.

It's possible that end of year a 7-5 (4 FCS losses) or 8-4 (3 FCS losses) at the end of the year with 2 of those losses to 1 & 2 seed by a combined 6 points. Even if Mont State beat Montana then it's 1&4 seeds. 

 

The tough bullet to bit is UND 4 loses so far is a combined 14 points. Each of those games had the lead or chance to take the lead under 5 min left in the 4th.

Need to figure that out, but Schmidt still doesn’t have a full recruiting class under him.  Once they figure this out, we hopefully will be consistently on track for home playoff games.  We figured out how to win on the road,now need the confidence factor in close games.

Overthrew a wide receiver last week at end of game. Did it again at goal line in first half then under threw a wide open receiver in the 4th today to clinch it.

also the moving Co couldn’t make space for 1 yard when it was needed the most

Close game.

Battled hard.

Nothing to be ashamed of. 

Lost a one possession game that has been the best team in the country for the last decade.
