K State goes 81 yards for winning TD in 1:03.

Right, but we played the two drives completely different. K State beat us underneath, Montana beat us twice over the top.

For being the No. 5 team in country Montana didn’t look great. FCS feels very watered down this season. Besides NDSU SDSU MONT ST who else is actually "good"

Wasn’t impressed with Montana either. UND has a chance to go on nice win streak before the Bison game.

Some highlights today for sure and teams plays with more confidence and swagger.....but at the end of the day we found a way to lose to a team that we are conservatively 10-14 points better than.

Just saw the score as I was unable to watch or listen.  Looks like nothing has changed for und on the road.  Always finding a weird or difficult way to lose.   
 

I had initially thought it felt different after the K st loss.   I don’t feel that way anymore. Feels like the last decade +

What? Who said I ever preferred one? You claimed they were the same series. If you're talking numbers and result, then yes. If you're talking schemes, then no. I can at least appreciate we didn't go full prevent today like we did a couple weeks ago. Just had some execution issues.

At some point und has to start doing the the easy things correct.. making xtra points.. kicking the fg instead of going for it on 4th and 3.. kicking the fg instead of throwing some dumb inside throw where the rb doesn’t try to get out of bounds or spike in time.. give z more time.. 20 less time.. 

Feels like we try too hard instead of taking the easy/obvious call..  good teams don’t do that.

the reffing was terrible in the 4th quarter.. really terrible..they called tickytac bs calls on us and let them get away with way worse.. that Jerry slide with forearm to the head was a bad no call.. but the bottom line is we still should have easily won that game

D looks way better to me.. O looks like it’s still finding its way.. ST actually looks way better outside of CJ.. punts/KOs/coverage 

im sick over another winnable game on the road.. but I’m excited for UND football this year.  Our problems seem fixable to me.

We still don’t have the roster. It’s coming along. BTW I’m pissed because we had this game. We need to get to the point where we can drop the plow on teams in the 4th and grind them to dust even if they load the box. We were the better team and lost, that sucks. However, at the beginning of the year it felt like this year would be an uphill battle. All of a sudden the expectations have sky rocketed. Overall it’s good.

Our freshman DB clearly got burned on the winning TD.  However, the two PI calls against him were, IMO, ticky tack calls that you don't make in a close, bigtime game, not to mention the horse collar call.  Let the players decide the outcome in a game like this, rather than playing to the crowd, as it appears that the refs were doing.

Also, I love Schmidty and staff and what they're doing, but I hate to see our best RB, IMO, sitting out maybe half or more of the game (8 carries for 45; 5.6 ave.).  I think that we have to have him in there late in the game when we're trying to grind out first downs and eat clock, and anytime we're inside their 10 yard line.  He seems to know how to get into the endzone.

Maybe the above has already been addressed ad nauseum in this thread, but I was too busy watching the game to read it.  JMO.

I want success too. All of us want that. All of us are sick and tired of mediocrity, underachieving and losing.

But the Eric Schmidt Project won't be finished in a day, a week or a season. It will take time.

I said before the season that there would be growing pains in Eric Schmidt's first season. We saw some of those today.

But I still think we will get better as the season goes on.

Let's all take a deep breath and not panic after 3 games.

I don’t think many are panicking, but thinking what could have been. 3-0 with an FBS win was there for the taking.

I may be panicking but it’s due to having great coaches and better players but it’s still UNd football who’s just can’t win the big one

Nah, not how it works in college football nowadays. We can and should expect to win NOW. But with all that said, no reason to panic. This team and program is ramping up.

I expect UND to not lose another game this season, at least in the regular season … just watch. Think 2016…
