I can tell you from talking to people in the hockey world, Bent Chyzyk  is highly regarded as a great hockey mind and has a great eye for talent. I think it would be a good idea to hire him at part of the staff to be a team GM or ever we want to call it. He was at Breakaway Academy and I know he is well respected, and my brother-in-law speaks highly of him, too. For the record Jackson Blake was a Breakaway hockey player. 

Chyzyk is one of the more (if not the most) tapped in guys on the continent as far as youth talent in the 13-20 yr old range.

He may be…the pre-puberty blue chippers are easy to identify…get me the guy that finds the 18-21 yr old late bloomers that are heart and soul winners…need those type of guys too.

Short leash? Two years? That isn’t exactly giving one enough time. He doesn’t even have a starting goalie. If you’re giving him a short leash, then I’m afraid we will be portal shopping regularly. It is funny how our biases come through when its all words on an internet screen.  I clearly didn't know Raboin- so was not supportive.  I do know Chyzyk and have been supportive.  As positions about both are brought forward, and some of our minds become more open and biases discarded, it seems like both of those guys are up and comers that should be on a short list...but I can't help thinking that there's somebody we aren't thinking about who is the right guy for right now that could maybe bring in some boy geniuses with passion and groom them to return us to our rightful place of a perennial NCAA national champion conversation

Und parting ways w/brad berry just doesnt pass the smell test. My gut tells me there’s much more to this. More than failing to advance deeper into the post season. Off ice issues must be front and center. Maybe someday all of us will know what really happened here. Go sioux!!

Whoever the coach is, they need to mandate at least one fish bowl per year. If not the whole “our goal is a national title” thing is just lip service.

Jason Herter has a very, very good resume...could the fact that he is still alive in the NCAAs with Western be part of the reason we haven't heard anything?

If Jackson doesn't shake things up and things don't improve, then how long should he get? The college hockey world won't wait for us to get our crap together. I don't want to fall further behind.

I can only think of one instance that a head coach was let go due to lack of performance and a coach on that staff was retained as the head coach…….and she just resigned as our WBB coach.

I wouldn’t hate that. Was also at Duluth when they were at their high point. Always tough for me to tell how much an assistant has to do with winning but given that he’s done it at two places it must be something.
