I keep forgetting about Schultz as a recruit. Hasn't torn up junior this year, solid but unspectacular. I would imagine he goes back for another year before coming to campus

Sacha committed here not even taking a visit. Seems he really likes it here and wants to be one of great und players that's remembered for years. Hopefully a new coach doesn't change his mind. Or any players for that matter.

Am I the only one, but I really hate the "filing spots" from the portal. You're grabbing guys that have already bailed on one team, and bringing them onto yours. I don't have inside information, but I can't believe they're going to buy into the program the way a recruited player would. It just irritates me to no end that we're supplementing so much from transfers.

Western Michigan did it successfully. 6 players from the portal and 2 flipped commitments from Hampton and Bump.

Ferschweiler seems like a great motivator and a great tactical coach. Hope the next UND coach can do both as well.

He is a great coach. I don’t care where the players come from. Albeit the portal, committed recruitment, or sniped (flipped) recruits. It takes a great coach to spot the talent and assemble the correct players to make a successful team.

If Perron is gone (like rumors are indicating), you hope Zellers more than replaces that production and then they get a scorer out of the portal or a last minute higher end CHL add.

An offense built around Boisvert, Zellers, and possibly Bear (hopefully he's ready to go by beginning of season, if not mid-season at latest)...that's a great base.

I think Swanson figures it out next year too. Better utilization of his skills will help.  He certainly could distribute to Zellers. Possibly the last two USHL Player’s of the Year on the same line. I could see both Boisvert and Livanavage in the discussion for the Hobey next year if they stay.

I'd like to see some guys outside the UND circle get hired.  Maybe Peter Mannino?  Also, wonder if they bring in Chyzyk for a GM type role.  We need to recruit Canada HARD!

What I've been hearing is Carle is gone to the NHL and Manino will be stepping into Denver's HC. Rumor but I've heard it from multiple people.

Wonder how long Schloss was sitting on both of those articles. Seems a little too convenient that DJ is announced as new HC and right after the announcement, he has a story with quotes direct from Livanavage about how they all wanted DJ or they would leave.

Multi-generational ties to UND so not going to the portal. Not even a half point per game average so not going pro. Would be shocked if he doesn't wear a letter and take some of Schmaltz's role.

His dad advertises his Dental practice during the broadcast; hopefully it has been fruitful for him.

If/when he comes back, he should wear a letter. Heart and soul guy who dreamed of playing for the program since he was a little kid. I wouldn't wish what the kid has been going through outside of the rink on my worst enemies. 

His dad is an ophthalmologist.* And a fantastic human being.
