I think you’re a little confused about what I was saying which is understandable because tone can’t be gleaned online; unless you’re less worked up than it seems.

Our top 4 this coming season will actually be very good and 5-7 D are good, too. So bringing in another top 4 portal D that would displace really good players that are our own (yes I know Zmolek was a portal 2 years ago) wouldn’t make a ton of sense when we have bigger fish to fry.

Recruiting Pohlkamp last year vs recruiting Ashton this year are 2 very different scenarios. Our D corps going into last season was young and iffy (which was apparent most nights), so going into the portal for high end D was more necessary last year than this upcoming season.

Dman Cleveland from CC (and UW) is heading to UMD.
That surprised me until I saw that he's from Wausau, WI, which is just a few hours away from Duluth.

Vitolins and Zetterberg are intriguing.  Both foreign players that UND doesn't typically get or go after (as you said), but both could potentially do well.  Vitolins has experience in NCHC play...wonder how he could do when not on the worst team in the league and surrounded by better players.  Zetterberg got buried on a loaded BU F group but still put up ok points as a FR.

I really like zetterberg, ridiculously skilled. Tiny though, so there’s risk.
